What a piece of journalistic prowess to nail down the foe in all of this...Detective Thomas Marin. How dare he not call the Transgender, or Chris for that matter, back. He is the one who should be on trial for poor detectiving.
Mr. Navajo was only acting under the influence of alcohol whereas the detective was on the job and therefore not allowed to drink and so he has no excuse for the mistake he made.
Would this be considered a hate-crime since it was perpetrated against a transgender individual? If so, would that enable the State to elevate the charge from second to first degree murder?
