She should resign - they all should. they only get appointed because they are in tight with the governor - she can resign first and then the others should follow.

oh c'mon readerofthesun, who cares that he has done mumerous things for the community? he broke the law, plain and simple. why should he be treated any differently that anyone else in the same position. why should the article be about anything but his blatant disregard for the law - and by the way, for the rest of us on the roads that night.

Of course they should close on Fridays. It would save money and jobs. If the work isn't there, the people aren't there, what's the point of keeping an office open...just because it makes it easier for someone to do business because the place is empty? Sounds like an idiotic idea. The city is losing money, jobs, and credibility. Do something positive for once!

A vote for Cathy Rosenfield is a vote for Henderson. She is the best candidate, she has worked for Henderson, she knows Henderson, and has been involved in helping Henderson's programs. Hopefully the voters will see this.

She deserved to go. Hope she loses her lawsuit.

The Medical Board strikes again (NOT). Docs doing surgery, unauthorized, is not "engaging in behavior that brings the medical profession into disrepute?" Are you kidding? The Medical Board is once again protecting its own like it always does.

To "Disagree"
Ms. Peck was a classic example of the Peter Principle - she rose (rapidly) to the level of her incompetence. Just because she was an employee for many years does not mean that she was a good City Manager. It was her lack of professionalism and tact that led to her demise; neither you nor she have anyone else to blame.

Good riddance. She was a tyrant, who absolutely ruled with fear. She deserved the exact same treatment as the employees she humiliated by forcing them out. This was not a matter of jealousy or undermining authority because she was promoted; she was a terrible city manager and had no clue about how to create an empowering environment. Employees didn't talk because they were afraid for their jobs and many were made to suffer humiliating circumstances because Ms. Peck felt threatened by their knowledge. The City has very little, if any, institutional memory left because the people who knew anything have gone. She was not good for Henderson.

hey - "single, retired, didn't knock up anyone" - try saving money when you have children to clothe, feed, and educate. It's almost impossible. I wish Cynthia well.

I strongly disagree with the comment made regarding revoking or restricting medical licenses of physicians with multiple malpractice payments. Just because a payment has been made does not mean that malpractice has occurred. Most physicians will attempt to settle cases rather than going to court. They are not judged by a jury of their peers, but by other patients who don't understand medicine. Complications to procedures happen all the time - they don't mean a doctor has committed malpractice. The state is already in dire straits - we won't have any doctors here by the time we're through.
