We have so much teaching material at the Title One school where I work, that we don't even have enough time to use the materials. Duncan should reconsider the conditions on Title One funding; it could be used for more productive things like lowering class size.
I supported Ensign's Housing First Amendment to the Surplus Package. It was going to provide credit worthy homeowners an opportunity to refinace their homes at just 4% interest. It's the first real effort for stimulus money to go directly to the pockets of working Americans. The Housing First Amendment would have put an extra $300-$450 dollars into the pockets of working Nevadans every month to spend and help stimulate the economy. Unfortunately, Ensign's amendment was voted down by democrats voting along party lines.
As a registered democrat, I was extremely disappointed by the outcome of this vote.
Support the Nevada New Home Lemon Law.

I teach full day kindergarten in CCSD. I will start on Monday with 34 students in my class and a teacher's aide for 1/2 day. There are eight teachers at my school assigned to out-of-classroom positions.
It would be helpful to classroom teachers if state legislators would draft a bill that read, "All class sizes will be limited to 24 students before any teacher in a school district is assigned to an out-of-classroom position."
This would help to assure that the teaching power filters down to a level that will have a direct and positive impact on students.
Sincerely,
Robin Vircsik

I am definitely voting for Ron Taylor in District B. http://rontaylor.info
If I lived in District A, I would vote for Dr. Goldman. http://eg4trustee.com
Both of these candidates have enough guts and knowledge to help turn CCSD around go make it go from worst to first.
