Ladies & Gentlemen,
Could it be that now the people who used to enjoy the slots, are realizing ya just can't hit on these machines anymore. They added bonuses, free spins, and a ton of extras. Bottom line is that jackpots are rare,if not extinct.
The locals are no longer interested in the enjoying such tight machines,on top of the exspensive meals offered. And don't get me going on the comps! I'd like to see the tax slips for the last 1-5 yrs, compared to the ones before that. That would pretty much give you a idea on how much greed the casinos have sucked out of people who enjoy gambling, especially the locals who support these on a daily basis. These are the folks who spend money on a regular basis. And they are now realizing that its such a waist. You used to be able to spend some quality time on 100.00.Now they don't even let you sit down and enjoy a cup of coffee with it.Let alone finding the only waitress thats running the whole floor.
Congrats Ceo's, you rocket scientists have found such a unique way to discourage people from coming to your casino's.And guess whos the blame?
the Economy? I don't think so. Show the folks just who's winning. Show us the these tax slips that people used to win, compared to the last 5 yrs. That pretty much sums it up. I personally have eliminated a few casinos, that i refuse to play anymore because of such greed. And they just don't understand what created Las Vegas in the 1st place. The rooms are so expensive on the strip. It used to be that they would let you rest your head for a few hours, so you can spend it on gambling, food, souveniers, what ever your heart desired. Now, its sucked up in room rates, that ordinary famlies cannot afford much of anything else.Until these decision makers bring back what had created Vegas in the 1st place, you we see declining revenues everywhere.
Instead of maintaning what you already own, lets go out a build more empty rooms and tight machines. That will be the answer.
Well, there losses surely is not coming from payouts on machines. I've already had it set in my mind to never play there again.Nothing but pure rip off. Maybe if these casinos realize that they need customers, and your surely not going to pull them in without giving some realistic cash back once in a while. Its not the customers fault, that these guys are in debt up to their eyebrows.
How about letting Ruffin make his speech. No 50.00 customers needed. That should bring em in.Besides, I think its alittle too late.People have caught on about Las vegas Gambling. They're so tight, they squeek.Got a sister in law that used to come out at least once a yr.Spends alot of money on 25 cent machines, never hit any thing good in her 4 days here. She even tried the locals off the strip.Seeing how much she dropped made me sick, but she can afford it.She'll never come back, because of how vegas has changed from gambling to ripoff. She didn't tell me nothing new, and I live here. And we sure can't hit anything. But i know whos winning, the Ceo's.Good luck in the recovery, but until you start giving some of the money back in slots, people will gamble at their hometown casino's. That a Fact.
Did you say you don't want the $50.00 a night person here? Lmao, has it ever occured to you that these folks probably enjoy spending more money on gambling, food, and intertainment than resting there heads on a bed? But wait! I get it now. Lets let the 50.00 a night person stay at motel 6,and hope they stop in your casino and play, eat. At least for me,when i come out to vegas, most of my money is spent at the casino i stay at.But thats ok,you guys keep up with that mindset. But just remember, i hope what he said does get out to all the folks who enjoys vegas.Thats a fine way to attract folks to come out and enjoy.Ya just might be living on that Pirate ship with that concept.Don't forget your life vest.
the spigot has been turned off on the middle class for 11 yrs. Bush administration set that temple. And as far as the trickle down theory, isn't that when we gave to the rich, and hoping they would send it down to the working class?
And Obama's plan is showing that too. Lets give it to people in charge of big business,we'll layoff thousands to save the bottom line. And as long as they get their bonuses, thats all that matters.I would love to see these bigwigs stand in line with the unemployed,And see what its like to be in survival mode. Losing a bonus, and losing your homes are totaly different. And when i voted for Obama, I actually thought he knew the problem.Only to see he doesn't have a clue.I have no more faith in the politicians anymore. They are all in the same basket. Its no wonder why people are looking at socialism now.
I think your going to find that since they are committed to finishing the city center, they are going to be in trouble for a long time. This city center was set up to attract big spenders.Penthouses and condo galore.Expensive foods, and luxury lounges. And they'll have to sell big, because its the only way they will survive. So what percentage of travelers are going to stay there. Time will tell, but in my opinion, its going to be used for storage. These masterminds have reached so high to be the best, they forgot about a reccession that may never come back. But as long as these Ceo's can get their cut now before it falls, thats all that matters. This is just another prime example of whats wrong with america. The greed is helping maybe 10 percent, while the workforce is going to live on the streets. And even when the company doesn't show a profit, you'd never know it by the ridiculas bonuses and raises this 10% gets. From the short time i've lived out here, when i asked whats gone wrong.....Everyone of them told me that las vegas was so much better when the mob ran the casino's.If you worked hard at your job, you had the job for life,no exceptions. If you messed up bad, caught cheating,stealing....well they would just take you out for a long one way ride. But all the old people i talked to said they took care of you, no matter what. Can't say that about todays corporations. They have the concept of "its about me 1st". No wonder theres so much hatred in our country. I truely thought Obama would be as close to thought as any politician. He has purely dissapointed me so far. just like the rest. And as scarey as it sounds, and i don't like it one bit, but i see a war happening within our own country. Not that other countries are as important. but the fact america is getting restless with the way our leaders are putting us through. I pray it never does. But I also see that much hatred.
Patrick,
this isn't about jealousy at all. This is about a company that told their employees to give up their pay raises, increased their insurance premiums due to the economy situations. We are all aware of this economy. These workers are not jealous of million dollar incomes, they are concerned about their own. And when the company asks for these concessions, and then the next day decide to give a pay increase of that size, including bonuse structures, you can't help but think how these workers feel emotionaly.because its not about how much ceo's get paid, its about survival for them paycheck to paycheck while these ceo's do not have to worry much about daily living exspenses, like the workers, who are the ones who create the Las Vegas experience to guests, and make sure they want to come back and enjoy their vacations. The ground floor worker never cares who drives Bentleys and BMW's, or live in million dollar mansions. They all care about making a living for their own. So when a company takes away from one,lay off another, and explain to them they no longer can afford to give out. But then throws a huge salary increase to another,ya can't help but get upset, not jealous. But its the American way these days.Screw the guys who keep the great companies clean, safe, and provide a great atmoshere for guests. And this is what they get for their reward. If their happened to be $500,000.00 floating around the company, i surely could have found a better way to use it for many, rather than just one. Again, I say way to take care of their own, MGM. Jealous? No. In tough times, everyone should suck it up alittle. but when they take from the line workers, and give to the ceo's, theres just something thats wrong with that picture.
I feel really sorry for the employees who had their raises taken away,no cola for this yr, and no further raises until the company rebounds. These folks are living from paycheck to paycheck just to make ends meet, during what MGM calls a economic crisis. Now they hear about a 500,000.00 increase in pay? And Bonuses? Please !.... I don't understand how they can actually tell the workers, who create a atmosphere of 1st class accomodations, and a place where they want people to come back. And then kick them in the teeth by handing out a pay raise like that, and a bonus structure.I'm sure he's not worried about losing his home, paying the increased Nevada power bill.Last time I knew, people were stuggling just to keep what they have. Now they're asked to pay more for insurance, freeze their wages, and some have had them taken back after they already earned it.Way to take care of your own MGM. It amazes me once again, that the ground floor workers, who make companies thrive, are also the ones who gets the beating when things are out of their control.Congratulations, Mr Murren, You deserve it.
Yep, all these giants, were spending every last cent on building bigger and better. And now that things are down, there in survival mode. What ever happened to a stable profit? the prices of staying in vegas are ridiculas, let alone food, lodging, and even a night out with their families. We've outpriced the market folks, and these execs were chasing their huge bonuses on the backs of the workers who create these experiences. Insurance increases, layoffs are the easiest short term answer to maintaining the doors being open.Take a look at the wages these workers are making,or were making, and you can't blame them for being so upset over the fact these overpriced execs and ceo's raked in millions. And guess whos left taking the brunt of it? yep....its the folks who live paycheck to paycheck, as always. I don't feel sorry for any of em. As a matter of fact, I surely hope these execs feel the pain that workers are feeling right now. Maybe they'll understand what it feels like to have to lose some of their living standards, they were used to when things were good.Welcome Aboard with us! We have been there for a few yrs.And guess what? we are now looking at a 18% increase for power. God bless all the lower income folks who are working hard to keep what they have, while the higher incomes probably don't sweat the idea of these increases. Its no wonder America's in the shape were in. President Obama's taxbreak of the average of 12.00 a paycheck, just got sucked up on insurance increases. Its a shame because the middle class laborers are the ones who used to make the economy thrive.Does it make you wonder why were in the shape we are in? Middle class will never recover. While we sit and watch the rich get richer.I have no sympathy for personal greed who sacrafice the laborers for their bonuses.

Maybe you can reinvent the slot machine,by adding alot more games with fewer payouts. Heck, you can even take the jackpot lites off the top of your machines,Ya surely don't use them anymore.I got it ! How about a ten window reel, with 100 combinations, with a 5 dollar max.
Heres the trick, ya just put 1 cherry on each of the reels, and the rest of them blank. When the cherries line up,you win your bet back. Sounds fun? That will get folks to play more often. Even better, how about putting in a credit card slot,so folks won't care about how much they play, or how much money they have just dropped.
I mean, cmon ! Gamblers like us want options. You build it.....they will come. (Ha Ha).
