Hey how about a 20 year jail sentence for shock value. Maybe these taggers would think twice about what they are doing.
Lay off thousands of full time with benefits.
Hire back a handful part time no benefits.
This is the new Las Vegas.
You should never apologize for what the NCAA did to you. They broke up the greatest program in the country.
You made Rebel basketball the greatest show in town.
I have watched college basketball for 44 years now and the Runnin Rebels were the best team since the UCLA teams of Jabbar and Walton.
Thank you coach for everything you did on the court. The NCAA was out to get our program and they unjustly ran you out of Vegas.
All the best to you and stay healthy.
I have such good memories opening this property in 1990. I was part of the original Keno department and we opened on the third day of operations.
Tony Marnell treated us great and it was a fabulous place to work. He gave us all letterman jackets for Christmas the first year and I remember how all of the employees wore them. It was small and friendly, with so much class back then.
Can't believe that was 20 years ago.
What a shame Marnell sold the place to Harrahs.
It is about time they did something, bravo MGM.
There is no way to justify smoking on any level. If you want to smoke go outside and smoke all you want. Smokers are severe drug addicts who have been coddled for decades because of the profits of the cigarette companies.
They have no right to impose their sickness on others, period.
By the way I smoked for 30 years before finally kicking the addiction.
All smokers are junkies but they will defend to their death their right to poison themselves. I have no problem with smokers as long as they keep it out of my face. I probably fight off the urges 5 to 10 times a day and I quit 5 years ago.
All slot machines operate with a random number generator. It does not matter whether they are server based or not.
The years have taken its toll on the casino now called Binions.
When I broke in at the Golden Gate in 1976, the Horseshoe was the place to go after work. We could get 50 cent drinks and a decent steak dinner for 2 dollars. My sister was a blackjack dealer there and she was making great tokes and wearing bluejeans in the pit. It was a great time to be in Vegas.
Now sadly since Teddy died the Horseshoe is long gone. I agree with the other readers that the canopy has got to go. I remember when downtown was the place to cruise and really the heart of Las Vegas. The Fremont experience is trying to not get harassed or mugged on the street past the Four Queens.
Thats my story too.
Waiting for the City to open. Dreams are made of this.
It is a shame that no one is pulling for this project to make it.
There is just so much negativity in all of these postings. I agree that things have definitely changed for the worse, I have been here since 1976.
We need to rally together and make City Center a success for the good of Las Vegas.

I was fortunate to have my next door neighbor who worked for Jerry Lewis in the 60's. Jerry was very great to him and his family. He helped build his pool for his backyard, and provided him with a projector and copies of his films. We used to sit in his box seats at Dodger Stadium, what a thrill.
He still remains loyal to the Jarrard family to this day, and is really a wonderful person. God bless Jerry for all his contributions to Hollywood and society. He is a true living legend.
