A former Wendover resident once told me that the locals refer to their town as "Leftover."
A friend of mine graduated from high school in Costa Mesa, California, in 1961. According to her, the ability to swim was a graduation requirement at that time.

Not all insured children will be getting free vaccines.
I'm absolutely certain that you, huh, are vaccinated against not only chicken pox but also hepatitis A and B, meningitis, measles, mumps and rubella. And doubtlessly you're up to date on your diphtheria, pertussis and tetanus booster shots. Of course you've taken every precaution against being infected by a child or young adult whose parents couldn't afford to pay for vaccinations.

I have a master's degree and I also speak Spanish. Two years ago I applied for a position at a local pharmacy benefits firm. The job offer went to a senior citizen who had dropped out of high school in 1962 and had just obtained a GED. Here in Las Vegas, there truly is no substitute for a good education.
