Keep in mind that Rep. Shelley Berkley does not actually want Yucca Mountain to be cancelled. That would be the worst thing to happen, because then Yucca Mountain would not be avaialble for her and other Nevada politicians to "use" as a political issue. No Yucca Mountain means no more monorails to haul drunks around the strip, for example.
