Yeah, Chap, you tell him!

Hey Chap: I use a dull butter knife to shave my head.

As the Emperor said: "Good. Use your aggressive feelings, boy. Let the hate flow through you."
Obviously I don't have time to respond to all of the comments, but Prof Parker has created a Web page on the subject: http://www.business.unr.edu/faculty/park...
He includes academic papers showing, in the first one, for instance, linkages between deflation and recessions. Be sure your bomb shelter has plenty of food and that your guns are locked and loaded, everybody.

Happy Leper says in answer to the possibility of a stateless child the "likely correct answer is that the child would gain the citizenship conferred to him/her by the parents, not that the child would be stateless."
Likely? How "likely"? From a story I wrote about this in 2006: "Raquel Aldana, another UNLV law professor, posed the possibility of children born here who would be denied citizenship both in the United States and in their parents' countries of origin: 'You're creating a category of stateless people that goes against tradition and human rights.'"

Hey Bradley Chapline: Why would we remove your comment? I have no truck with you not enjoying my stabs at humor. But I have to take exception to the idea that my columns have "no real substance." I've written about the successes of Advanced Technological Academy; Metro's officer involved shootings; alleged corruption at College of Southern Nevada; two brothers brought together at Thanksgiving after three decades apart; and the proposed NV Energy electricity rate hike, among several other subjects, some more serious than others. That's in the past month. As for "true caring for humanity," well, I'll leave that alone, and maybe you should too. But maybe you were kidding and I didn't get it! Happy holidays, in any case.

Hey Reza - Web editor doesn't know what you're talking about. I assure the readers there was no conspiracy to change photos to better suit my column.
Predictably, lots of blame going to pedestrians in the comments. Obviously pedestrians needs to be responsible, but creating some equivalence of responsibility here is a little ridiculous. They're not the ones in 4,000 pound machines going 50 miles per hour.

Good catch Digger. Embarrassing.

Uh, the rules are pretty clear about what you can and can't take on an airplane, and they aren't taking the items from you. People choose to leave the items behind (and then don't pick them up) because they'd rather get on the plane.

The point here isn't to "expose" Liberty Leavitt Roberson. If I wanted to do that, I don't think I would have used a character reference who called her extraordinary in the classroom, a much valued team member and winner of an award from the Nevada Childhood Cancer Foundation. The point is to note that Sen. Roberson should use the example of his talented wife to spend less time rhetorically beating up educators and more time working constructively with them.
