"One of them is being able to speak frankly to the mayor and the other members of the council and word with them so that he or she can best implement the council's agenda."
Word with them?
Or work?
None of the casinos the writer mentions are the biggest money makers in the official Boulder Strip market used for the stats in the story. The top two are Green Valley Ranch and Sunset Station. The Eastside Cannery was built cheaply but it is no sure thing that it will return much on the investment in the downscale section of town it has to compete in.
ChrisC is a moron. This is a great article. I believe victims of sexual assault and rape should not be denied compensation just because they were intoxicated by alcohol, prescription drugs or illegal drugs. Nice work, Abigail.
Kennedy is one of our greatest senators, the comments of "GOD" notwithstanding. If Democrats had nominated him in 1980 and he had defeated Reagan this would be a much better country.
Nice work, Las Vegas Sun. And better late than never, Stratosphere.
Thanks for looking out for the gambler.
Wow, this is seriously messed up. Good story, bad news for Las Vegas.
I wonder whether the casinos might have to start trying to bring in more drive-in gamblers, even though gas in California costs $4.00 a gallon.
It didn't say "off-strip"when I read it. It was wrong, but then changed.

Much improved? Maybe a little, but that's not saying much after the prior failures. Sanford is a loser, a terrible coach and needs to be replaced. If he's unhappy, let him quit. The supposed offensive genius behind the success of Urban Meyer and Alex Smith at Utah is a fraud. He's no game tactician, can't recruit and he's a ticking time bomb as we saw at Iowa State a year ago.
