Nice work, Las Vegas Sun. And better late than never, Stratosphere.
Thanks for looking out for the gambler.
Wow, this is seriously messed up. Good story, bad news for Las Vegas.
I wonder whether the casinos might have to start trying to bring in more drive-in gamblers, even though gas in California costs $4.00 a gallon.
It didn't say "off-strip"when I read it. It was wrong, but then changed.
"When built, Viva will top Red Rock Resort as the most expensive casino complex in history. "
What about Bellagio, Venetian, Mandalay, Wynn, City Center, Encore, Palazzo, Encore, Borgata, Venetian Macau and many others?
Abscher?
It is ridiculous to assert that harassment is just a misdemeanor. What mattered were the details behind the confidential settlement. If Lewin didn't want to get on the wrong side of the Control Board he should have fought the harassment complaint rather than settling it. The Gaming Commission is obviously able to reach a different conclusion, and it did. But it smacked of a typical good-old-boys club decision to spare the longtime executive. This case is not illustrative of why we should forgive "peccadilloes," as Hank Greenspun called the allegations against Lewin, it is an example of why Nevada needs to quit appointing such wimps to regulatory bodies. That's why we end up with boxing deaths, hepatitis-spreading endoscopy centers and a gaming industry in bed with scumbag nightclub operators, Stanley Ho and his daughter, Dubai oil billionaires and Communist China. It seems like the Sun and its editor take a soft line on any friend of the Greenspuns (who own their own casinos, we shouldn't forget.)
Lame effort. Adelson's an obnoxious jerk. An egomaniac, boorish and greedy. Lawsuits at the drop of a hat. Where's the context?

Kennedy is one of our greatest senators, the comments of "GOD" notwithstanding. If Democrats had nominated him in 1980 and he had defeated Reagan this would be a much better country.
