What a waste of time. Who cares how out of towners pronounce it. I have never heard anyone put someone down for how they pronounce the state name. Some will joke about it. Okay legislature I hope I don't see this being brought up when as others said we have important things to address next year.
I have lived in Henderson for 16 years. I like the tone of the community. As big as Henderson has gotten, it still does a good job for the citizens. We have an excellent police department, fire department and a mulitude of great services. I fear consolidation of services could jeopardize this. I would ask our Mayor and council to go cautiously before making any decisions that could hurt this great city.
Haven't we lost enough tourist business? As an example we get thousands of Mexican tourists who come here to spend mucho money. This could discourage them and send them elsewhere. Good idea Chad "Nutjob Jr.". Asians also comprise a great deal of our visitors. Now we want to shake them down to make sure they are legal, what a concept. I guess Chad thinks our law enforcement don't have anything better to do. Even public employees have a right to bargain in private. Jimmy comes up with one goofy thing after another. He will continue until he is gone this fall.
I had a gopher problem in Wisconsin years ago. I had a german shepherd that left piles of poo on a daily basis. I took it and stuffed it into the holes and they soon decided to move. That worked with a wood chuck also. Encourage everyone to bring their dogs to the park and collect the dog poo and stuff it into the holes. Good fertalizer also.
Isn't it interesting the school district just had an offer from a very successful businessman and a past regent for UNLV to work for free for the next three years. Instead a district strapped for cash is spending thousands of dollars to find a new superintendent of schools. It just shows how smart the people running the district really are.
Good choice of words henderson. But it seems the reference to Lemmings is more appropriate to the Republicans. They no longer think for themselves. Reid is not one of the fancy talking politicians, instead he is a doer that accomplishes things. I am sick and tired of the idiots that blame the government for the lack of jobs. Since when is the government responsible to give you a job. Get off your fat McDonald's butt and get a job. Instead everyone wants to blame Reid for not having a job. Those jobs went to China because people want cheap junk to buy at Walmart rather then paying a decent price for US made merchandise. I could go on and on but whats the use when Republicans only want to elect the elite instead of those who want to work for the every day average people.
Yes Harry does his own shopping. When I was at a grocery store doing my shopping Reid passed me pushing a shopping cart just like I was buying groceries. He wasn't doing anything political just shopping like everyone else. He might be rich but he doesn't act like it. No I did not talk to him, I figured he needs his space just like anyone else does. Sad how he is pictured by the press and the conservatives.
This sounds like a great display to have for everyone to enjoy. Why wouldn't Galleria Mall not want to sponsor it and I wonder what it will cost for anyone to view it. I think free entry to the exhibit would be the best way to go. It would be a win win situation for the City and the Mall. With people with tight budgets it would be nice to see something that doesn't cost people of the community to enjoy like our parks.
It amazes me that there are still Republicans out there who will support Ensign. I guess they are just used to being led around by the nose. Ensign is despicable and is an example of how the Republican party is failing to lead by example and have become the party of no without ideas to help our country get back on its feet.

It is sad that these people at a peaceful gathering had to die to wake everyone up to the fact that words can have consequences. This killer was obviously psychologically imbalanced. I only hope that it makes those in the public eye more conscious of what they say. Some I realize will continue because of ratings or political agenda and financial reasons. We need the first amendment to protect our right of freedom of speech. But do we need to inflame to force our opinions on others. Jon at least makes the point that he may have crossed the line at one time or another. This probably applies to all of us at one time or another.
