How about another conflict of interest? Anwar and Khan get paid by hospitals to decrease utilization (translation: crappy care) and then they sell that skewed physician-practice information back to insurance companies that then decide which doctors to contract with.

Nice for-profit medical care system we got here in this country, huh?

Not only can Clifford "Jammer #2" Carrol brag about doing 50 endoscopies in one day, he can now also brag about how little he's been sued relative to the marginal care he delivers!

And, on top of that, he's a Bush supporter, so in some convoluted way Carrol still thinks he's right and everyone else is wrong.

<<Isn't it amazing how we have Government willing to waste BILLIONS >>

"Government" isn't the problem - it's the 30% illogical, immoral, selfish voters plus the 21% poorly informed who are swayed by propaganda.

In other words, it's many of your friends and neighbors who are to blame.

<<Gibbons spouts “There was no single vial of medication reused. There were no reused needles. Gross negligence when you have far below the number of average (hepatitis C) cases listed? That’s trial-lawyer speak to me. I think if you’d had gross negligence, you’d have a high number.” >>

Gibbons is using tortured logic to defend the indefensible. Hmmm, he must be a Bush supporter.

Wow, 50 endoscopies in one day. At a safe rate of 30 minutes per endoscopy, Carrol and all the staff worked at least 25 hours that day!

<<Each of the 16 others looked the other way while unsanitary, assembly line practices lined their pockets with dollars.>>

Many of the other docs in Desai's group are well-intentioned, good clinicians. But if you're an otherwise good doc and you show up to peform a procedure, you can't help but notice the people around you (staff, nurse-anesthetists) are spending too little preparation time to be adhering to sound hygiene practices. The other docs had a duty to know whether or not patient safety regulations were being followed.

The only way get to Desai is to get his money, most of which is probably in trusts or already out of the US. Losing his medical license, losing Medicare billing privileges, even loss of status won't bother Desai as much as losing the millions he's collected over the years.
