Until Harry Reid and Nancy Pelosi took over Congress January 2007 America clearly benefited from the the BUSH taxe rate cut
Unemployment was in the 4% range coming out of the Clinton recession and the impact of 9/11.
In 2008 Federal revenue was what the CBO under Clintion predicted so the rate cut still produce the need tax revenue.
-----------------
Democrats either are lying, are inept, or are just playing dumb for the media, when they said "Only Republicans are responsible today for the uncertainty causing the double dip in the recession, no job growth, and the national debt; because of two wars, the 2002 tax rate cut, and Medicare drug entitlement, etc. and thereby incurring huge deficits"
For DEMOCRATs who refuse TODAY to Lead us in the HERE and NOW - it may continue to be self-serving but its fruitless to blame Bush. Why - Check the numbers:
The FY-2007 the Bush/Republican Congress Deficit was $161 billion and Revenue was $2.7 trillion and unemployment was 4.8%.
The last Republican Congress budget -- the FY-2007 budget included all the "problems" that Obama and Democrats complain that Obama inherited - the two wars, the tax rate cut, and Medicare drug entitlement, etc.
- In Bill Clinton's/Republican last budget year (FY-2001) total Federal Revenue was $1.991 trillion and the national debt was $5.8 trillion.
- The Bush/Republican FY-2007 Revenue was $2.7 trillion and national debt was $9.0 trillion.
So the Bush tax rate cut put in place to recover from the Clinton DOTCOM recession and 9/11 increased revenue 35% in 6 years.
-----------
In 2008 the Bush / DEMOCRAT Congress Deficit was $455 billion;
Democrats cannot blame the lack of tax revenue - In 2008 the Bush tax rate revenue target met the Bill Clinton era 1999 CBO estimate for 2008.
In 2009 the OBAMA/DEMOCRAT Congress passed a Keysian Deficit was $1,420 billion ($1.42 trillion). This include the two wars that Obama could have walked away from
Now the common denominator is not Bush or Obama it is Reid and Pelosi and Democrat control.

The serious flaw in your anaology is the fact that Bush was not counting the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan in the deficit.
For all of you that want him fried what makes you so different from him? I thought God only decided on who lives and dies? So this guy played God and now the rest of you want to join in? You do not want justice. You want the state to take your revenge for you since none of you could ever pull the switch. AnthonyJoe was the only voice of reason so far here.
Hey rusty57 do you mean this great deal?

Cutting public spending. The Chilean government has cut social expenditures, including health
and education spending, to help pay the pensions of retired and retiring workers.[7]
Raising taxes. Chile introduced a value-added tax in 1975 in order to raise revenue for the
anticipated transition.[8]
Reducing lifetime benefits. In order to cut costs, the Chilean government raised the retirement
age for beneficiaries. Prior to reform, retirement ages varied--ranging from 44 to 65. In order
to cut costs, the Pinochet regime standardized retirement at 65 for men and 60 for women. The
dictatorship also eliminated special pensions based on years of service.[9]
Selling government assets. Transition to a privatized system was partially subsidized through
the sale of state-owned enterprises to the private sector.
Issuing debt. Government bonds finance approximately 40 percent of the annual costs of
transition. These bonds are sold to AFPs and will be gradually redeemed by the government
using general revenue.[10]
Exorbitant Management Fees
At first glance, returns on individual account investments in Chile appear quite respectable. After
factoring in management fees--which currently range from 16 to 20 percent of annual
contributions--the situation can look much different.
Over certain periods, management expenses dragged rates of return to nearly negligible levels. For
example, although the average rate of return on individual accounts from 1982 to 1986 was 15.9%, the
real return after commissions was just 0.3%. Returns between 1991 and 1995 averaged 12.9%, but
management fees lowered the return to 2.1%.[12] For a new worker enrolling in 1996, the 3.5% gross
yield actually amounted to a --6.8% return after taking management fees into account.[13] These
adjusted returns, moreover, do not include the cost of annuitizing retirement accounts, which in Chile
entails a fee equivalent to 8 to 9 percent of total retirement assets.[14]
A substantial proportion of these fees are used to pay sales staffs and to cover marketing expenses.
AFPs compete fiercely for new enrollees, offering inducements such as toaster ovens and promising
workers higher returns if they switch plans. Between 1990 and 1997, the AFP sales force in Chile
grew from 3,500 to 20,000. The upshot of this intense marketing is that 50 percent of all enrollees
switch investment funds each year.
Does not look that good to me.
What the Republicans have really accomplished was to get the people who live in the same row boat to beat each other over the head with the oars while they continue to cater to the top ten percent, at the expense of the people in the row boat. While some in the row boat have figured this out the others continue to vote for the Republicans that drilled the hole in the row boat.

How do the Ferrita's keep a license under these rules? Their dad helped run the skim from the Tropicana for the Kansas City mob. His name is on the infamous FBI Marlo tapes.

racer56 posted, "hermit, when Obama was elected and campaigning he said that he had all these plans to fix what Bush did. Where are they and he had all the power when he started because of the democratic controlled Congress but they didn't do a thing but pass Obamacare that will destroy this country more. And then they sat around and didn't pass a budget so the government would have to shut down. This is a two way street man, deal with it.
I wasn't saying either that Bush was the best. I didn't vote for Bush or Obama. In the early 2000s I was an Indepentant voter for Nader." Who kept putting up raod blocks on everything that was proposed? Who was leading all the filibusters? That is right it was the minority at the time Republicans.
racer56 said, "The dumbest thing this nation could of done was put an inexperienced person into the White House.
Thank you for destroying this nation."
Are you talking about George W. Bush, who bankrupted every business he was in? The only business he was in that made money was the Texas Rangers and that was thanks to the TAXPAYERS for building him a stadium. Since this all started during his reign and the Republican controlled congress how do blame Obama? He was stuck dealing with the aftermath.
imthemom, I think you have a lot of support here. I and many others here wish you the best. You get my vote for mom of the year.
