FightforNV,

Obviously you don't want to know anything about the community organizer/lawyer. Have you been to Chicago lately? The neighborhoods are no better after BHO than they were when he organized. Your idols in the MSM really tick off middle Americans as they've promoted Obama's candidacy cheering for him, tossing him softball questions, attacking Gov. Palin, and embellishing his paper thin resume. My comments were specific to another one of Biden's insert foot moments, but an elitist like you can just dismiss it with your weak reply. Dems had momentum till McCain dealt a blind-sided body blow with his VP pick and they're still recovering. BTW, your party line is: welfare, abortion, excessive gun control, global warming, activist judges, protecting illegal immigration through inaction, and all of the taxes Obama can muster to pay for the above stated items. Now that's a platform for America...so you vote your party line and may the best candidate win. Still smarting over the HRC slight:0?

Big Sky,

Your skewed opinion about Gov. Palin's pledge to be an advocate for special needs children is way off base. I live in Michigan and have been an active volunteer coach in my county's Special Olympics program for over 15 years. I do not have a family member with special needs, but I have enjoyed all the time I've spent training special needs people. As an interested follower of the political scene since the 2000 campaign and election, I have never heard any mention of the special needs at the presidential level from either party, until this year. Due to the 24 hour news cycle and internet bloggers, Gov. Palin's pledge will be scrutinized whether she wins or not, because she is still the Governor of Alaska. I am extremely proud that someone has finally acknowledged the importance of this segment of our population and I support her enthusiastically. She is a woman of integrity.

It seems Obama's running mate Biden demanded (slyly) that "Republicans (i.e. Gov. Palin)who are going to work in dealing with parents who have both the joy and the difficulty of raising a child who has a developmental disability, who were born with a birth defect"-should support embryonic stem cell research (since she has a special needs child). What a maroon!

'Down Syndrome CANNOT be “cured” or “fixed” … Down Syndrome happens the moment the sperm collides with the egg and the chromosomes immediately split … It’s a ‘done-deal’ … game over. No ‘do-over’ …
NO amount of ’stem cell research’ can come up with a “cure” or “reversal” of this condition. To do so would mean a total and complete morphing of every cell and the tiniest DNA component within … Imagine, if you will, the “Fantastic 4″ or the Wolfman transformation … yeah, THAT would be the ‘cure’ mechanism of Down Syndrome reversal … cure … fix.'

'ok this is actually pretty simple. Who cares more about special needs children? The man who wants to murder them before they’re even born, or the woman who has a special needs kid and does everything possible for him?'

Educate yourself on the issues before posting irresponsibly. America is a better nation when our dialogue is credible. Why attack with a sexist view of motherhood, Bigsky?
