No, Future, we do not. We need more abortions, not fewer. We need way, way fewer kids being born to parents who cannot afford to care for them. That means more birth control first, of course. But when that fails, we need teenagers and those who cannot afford their kids to abort them. This country cannot keep providing for millions of people who cannot take care of their families. Aren't you one of those who complains about the "liberals" doling out money? Better to prevent poor people from having abortions, then watch the kids starve, right?

I live in this part of town, too. It's tense driving because of the number of people running across the road all over this area. I always feel like it's only a matter of time before I hit somebody. I've even had wheelchairs zip out in front of me a few times. Someone who gave me a ride one day, who doesn't usually drive around here, got exasperated driving down Charleston and asked, "Why are there so many people in the road???" I know people who won't let their kids drive around here because of the pedestrian problem. There are not enough crosswalks on Charleston. Once that's dealt with, if people still cross in front of cars, they need to be ticketed. If the mayor wants a better downtown, this is one of the problems to deal with.

The Catholic Church and rich people as culprits here? Sounds about right. Then there are the politicians who refuse to enforce border law, for cheap labor and for future votes from those who want more social services. But I don't blame people who come here looking for a better life. Our country makes it so much easier to get ahead than in Mexico, so of course this will keep happening.
