Public employees only have themselves to blame for this mess. Their admin folks cannot step up and provide data on how they set salaries, so the press run rampant with emotion. The difference in private sector is that they scrutinize and benchmark ad nauseum.

Don't start that "but we have to negotiate with the union" dribble either. It takes two to negotiate. If you walk in the room with no idea what your salary philosophy or benchmark position is, then any number is as good as any other. FYI - That goes for benefits as well. So enjoy the mess you created!

So let me get this straight: Red Flags went up in Admin and these guys still raked in $100K+ in overtime? Who is reading the red flags, a color blind manager? Can someone in the public sector please take a course in finance or accounting? PLEASE!

Hmmm, public sector people who do not know what they are doing managing money and salaries. So, this situation is a suprise? Do they know that the IRS has come down on NFPs who do not run proper salary analysis (like the public sector). By all means, enjoy the leather seats. They will help your rear end serve the needy!

Wow, "labor experts" are right. It is none of our business as dues paying members to know what our money is paying for. It is just a vast consipracy of the Bush administration. How dare the DOL hold unions accountable for their responsibilities to its members! How dare other unions actually care about that stupid "democracy" thing and representing members!

Yep, new Commissioners like the old ones. Screw the employees and taxpayers, rules do not apply to me. Plus, he has to be close to the door to allow him the energy to spend our money. Maybe he can get a horse and we have twice the manure to deal with!
