how about you people from moapa relax and just use Silvers words as a motivational weapon. Hey his job is to have us get on this blog and argue and debate why our teams is better and their picks is wrong. Don't get your panties in a bunch...jus write your statement on why your team is going to win and then send the comment..no need to attack the writers character or his moral standards.... I'm Just Saying... Now write more about Liberty's defense Silver......lol....Go Patriots...
Well vegas vegas I would love to see a Gorman vs. Liberty title game as well, Liberty got something to prove to someone. But got to take care of Del Sol first. And thats this weeks agenda. Good Luck to the Patriots, its do or die.....hea we go...
Got to agree with the w1536uy. You mention all the good athletes on the Del Sol squad saying this and that about them, but failed to mention the athletes on the Liberty side. I know that you know that most of Del Sol's starters play both ways. Even some of their lineman. Playing a physical team like Liberty, which has good depth on the D and O line should play in Liberty's favor. The first time Liberty and Del Sol met, coach Goroff offensive strategy was the same run the ball, but keep two O-line guys on #9 Samson Toalei. Now with the emergence of #79 Josh Lavau, #52 Remy Taeao and #76 Teddy Efthemeou Liberty's D-line will be tearing up the middle of Del Sol's offensive line which will free up LB's #9 Samson Toalei, #20 Albert Tai, # 43 Chanston Kahoaka and #54 Spencer Hill-Hale to contain Reed. Thought i mention a few defensive kids from Liberty with their numbers so everyone know who they are and make it easy to track them on the field. But again don't mention the Liberty athletes on your paper or podcast, the w1536uy and I will do it for you...I'm Just Saying....
Well I like to thank you to for picking against Liberty again. For some odd reason whenever you pick against Liberty they always find a way to win. And you make it seem that Liberty is always lucky winning games or Liberty didn't really earn the W. Yes it is Liberty's first playoff scene, but thats no reason for picking against them. Yes the fumbles were costly against Canyon Springs, but don't you think the coach made adjustments for that. And can you please give some credit to the Liberty Defense. So far only two teams scored over 20 points against them, they shut down 3 good running backs and held them under 100 yards rushing (Edwards, Afoa, and Rimmey). The D-line is lead by Remy Taeao, Teddy Efthemeou and Josh Lavau. And the defense lead by the Sunrise defensive MVP Samson Toalei. But with all that said go ahead and just say Liberty is just lucky or make excuses for all the teams Liberty beats. I'm Just Saying....
Not too bad for a team with so so athletes...like the win before, Canyon Springs had so called better athletes than and they lost...they have the same athletes now and they still lost...but they are a good team though i give them that....just wonder how many more games will Liberty have to win to get the respect they so rightly deserve... Oh And the Southeast league swept the Northeast league in the playoffs...again to prove how strong the Southeast teams are...keep saying we don't have the talent or don't have the coaches...A Southeast team is going to the state final....I'm Just Saying....
Yo Cody was balling. Good job, shout out goes to the other 4 players from vegas, Jarrett Solomon, Albert Tai, Niko Kapeli and Lott Haia Kahalewai. I believe Solomon lead the west in tackles and Tai was a close second. Kapeli saw more time as a blocking back and he delivered pancake blocks on every play he was in. Kahalewai managed the offensive line like a veteran and help the west get an easy win. I wish the coaches gave the ball to Kapeli more but it is what it is. All the players did a great job and represented the 702 well. Good job guys. I'm just saying....
There are a couple of things wrong here. I don't think everyone is punished when they transfer from one public school to another. Take the Las Vegas high QB, he transfered from another school and was able to play this year. Del Sol's RB Eamon, he also transfered from another school and was able to play for Del Sol. If you are expelled from one school and than transfer to another school you are allowed to play varsity sports.
What it comes down to is that this NAIA ruling is hurting a lot of good kids. They should be more lax on this ruling or really look at the program that the athlete is going to, if they are so concerned about recruiting. Why isn't there a ruling that punishes athletes who get expelled from one school and transfers to another school. Do we live in a society that rewards our teens for bad behavior now; no we don't so why do it. At least Aniciete has two more years to compete, but what about the sophomore who will transfer to another school for whatever reason. Now he/she has to sit out their entire Junior year which is important because of college recruits. I just don't like the rule. I'm just saying....
Right on boys good luck and be safe out there. Can't wait to see these 3 kids play high school football. Shoot this all-american bowl will be a good game to watch. If Niko Kapeli and Cody Mucino get on the field together in the backfield with Jarrett Solomon as the QB, wow better not blink you just might miss a big play.
On defense Albert Tai is solid, shoot and the other three players also play defense too. You would have a killer linebacker core with Tai in the middle and Kapeli and Solomon on the outside, than take Mucino and place him in the back as a free safety and you got yourself a ball-hawking safety that can lay the hat.
Good luck again to the warrior boys, and let me put a free plug in for myself. Anyone interested in getting an high light film of your son's football career for personal or collegiate purposes, go ahead and e-mail me at dxylfilms@hotmail.com. I made the high lights for the three young men in this article, two of them (i won't mention who) gave me a three hour window to get their video done lol. Wow I did it but I don't recommend it. So go ahead and send me an e-mail if you're interested. Oh if you want to see their high lights go on youtube and type their names in the search engine. I'm just saying....
oh vegasvegas i had to think for a while and this is how the playoffs should have gone....
Bracket A.
Liberty #1............
vs.
Chapparral #8.....
Centennial #3......
vs.
Coronado #6......
Bracket B
Cheyenne #5.....
vs.
Gorman #4.......
Palo Verde #8...
vs.
Silverado #2.....
Now I know you have to agree with me that this is the right model for the playoff picture. Now tell me again how Gorman is suppose to play Liberty in the semi-final game for bracket A when they are in bracket B. Now if you look at the league web site they list Gorman as the #2 seed. Now in any playoff system you would never have the #1 and #2 seed in the same bracket so they can play in the semi-finals. The playoff brackets always goes odd teams on top going in numerical order going down, even seeds start from the bottom going in numerical order from 1-10 going upward. And thats how you get #1 vs. #8, #3 vs. #6, #5 vs. #4, #7 vs. #2.
So if Gorman was #4 or #2(as stated on the league website) there is no way that Gorman should have played Liberty in the semi-final game. That tells me either the league doesn't like Gorman or they don't like Liberty. Which ever way you look at it they didn't want both of our teams in the bid dance.....I'm just saying....
