A serious suggestion to the editors: does it do any good to have comment threads open on stories like this? Are the page hits worth it? Post the link to the police fund and stop there; let these people exercise their right to free speech on white power hate site and the like, rather than tarnishing your paper by tacitly approving the most odious racism.

I try, against great odds, to think well of my fellow Americans--and this ain't helpin'....
