Content aside, as a spectacle it was quite the contrast. That is, after the first 10 minutes, when Harry seemed to realize he actually had to be on the same stage with her..... Reid comes across as the aging, pedantic, boring teacher (we've all had some) who puts half the class to sleep in the first 10 minutes, and the remainder not long thereafter. But you kind of forgive him because there's always someone like him somewhere in your family.

Angle could have a theatrical career. Playing the non-stop whiny and especially nagging wife we guys all dread winding up with. Prone to occasional moments of lucidity among all the noise.

Guess it really comes down to which one of the two (or neither) would you trust to make the right set of decisions....or at least not the worst set.

So, Nevada Republicans are happy with replacing a local dairy"s products with similar products from Texas.

And these same Republicans complain that Harry Reid has done nothing for Nevada?

I'd say that it's Speedee Mart Inc. that is turning its back on Nevada here.

Gee, could this be Angle's "Reverend Wright" moment?

Nah. She's so wacked out on her own that whatever her pastor says is just more icing on the cake.

Though I suspect the Reverend won't be supporting Mitt Romney for Pres.

We have an impressive list of Republicans For Reid....and not just wack jobs either but people who have inside knowledge and political experience.

I have yet to see anything similar as Democrats For Angle.

And while we're at it, Angle's hollow cliche-filled rhetoric will find a wonderful companion in Rand Paul, if he's elected:

PAUL: I think first of all, you look at whose money it is. It's the people's money, who earn the money, and we give up some to pay taxes. So I'm not seeing that as a cost to government. But I will immediately introduce bills to reduce spending. I think we should offset it. So I'm not opposed to introducing bills to reduce spending.

WALLACE: There's no way you're going to get $4 trillion by spending cuts.

PAUL: We're going to introduce legislation that will reduce spending. I'm going to introduce legislation that will balance the budget. We will have a balanced budget amendment introduced if I'm elected. We will also have a balanced budget that will be introduced if I'm elected. (Fox News Sunday, debate)

"Juice with Jim DeMint and Tom Coburn". About says it all. Then she can go say
hello to this Tea Party favorite in the House:

For many years now the CDC has conducted random telephone surveys to get info on our eating habits. But now, since it's Obama's CDC, a wingnut has decided it's a plot to take over our freedoms. Never one to miss an opportunity to scare constituents, Rep. Paul Broun (R-GA) warned his senior citizen dominated audience of the nefarious plot:

BROUN: I tell ya, we've got some new problems in Washington. Big problems. Just today, Centers for Disease Control in Atlanta said people in America are not eating enough fruits and vegetables. They want to give all the power to the federal government to force you to eat more fruits and vegetables. This is what the federal, CDC, they gonna be calling you to make sure you eat fruits and vegetables, every day. This is socialism of the highest order!"

ps - Broun is another of the GOP MDs who have given up medicine for career in politics. Good thing for the AMA.

Finally, AP has an in-depth Fact Check article about what's being "claimed" and what's a "fact" in this silly affair.

The whole GOP looks downright silly in this hyper-politicized story. But the biggest doofus among them is Newt Gingrich. For someone who wants to be the intellectual light of the right, his remarks demonstrate just how silly one becomes when trying to pander and rhetorically sink to the level of ignorance of the party's base.

Not a single Republican - except perhaps Gov. Cristie - has covered themselves in any glory.

Condensed from AP article: New poll released today by the Pew Forum on Religion & Public Life finds that 18 percent of American adults believe that their president is an adherent of the Muslim faith -- up from 11 percent last year.

The misperception about the president is strongest among Republicans. More GOP adherents insist that Obama is a Muslim than believe he is a Christian.

The Pew poll showed a direct relationship between approval of Obama's job performance and beliefs about Obama's religion. The more a voter hates Obama -- just 7 percent of conservative Republicans approve of his job performance -- the more likely he or she is to believe that their president is faithful to Islam.

Catholics, Mainline Protestants and "unaligned" Americans are much more likely to call Obama a Christian than a Muslim. But more evangelical Christians say he's a Muslim than a Christian.

Main source of "media information" for those believing he's a Muslim: television.

About that stimulus.....

Only about 45% of it has actually been spent. Of that amount, nearly half was in the form of the tax cuts that the republicans insisted on (then voted NO on the Bill).

So, I guess - to put a GOP talking point into its correct perspective - we can conclude that tax cuts don't create jobs.
