What? No Bryan Emerzian on the list of our all-time greatest dunk masters?

We need a new football stadium close to campus. Build in across from the T&M (on the site of the former Paradise elementary school) since UNLV already owns the property. The existing building is an old, one-story structure and could be razed. As far as parking, it could be at the T&M (build a pedestrian bridge from the T&M parking lot across Tropicana.) This is what UNLV needs.

R&R is basically saying, "leave it to us, we're the professionals." Except they're not. R&R didn't invent "What Happens Here Stays Here" - R&R repurposed the phrase from another campaign.

And what about a couple of years ago when R&R announced their new slogan, "Your Vegas Is Showing". R&R was very excited about it, unveiled it to the media, said it was very well received in the focus groups, etc. Shortly thereafter a commercial aired for Tide detergent, featuring Kelly Ripppa, that said, "Your Tide Is Showing." Woops, I guess R&R ripped that one off as well.

Here are some other "orginal" slogans likely to come out of the R&R creativity machine in the future:

1. McVegas - mmm mmmm good.
2. Got Vegas?
3. Vegas - we bring good thing to life.
4. Vegas - melts in your mouth, not in your hands.
5. Vegas - It's G-r-r-reat!
6. Vegas - breakfast of champions.
7. Vegas - don't leave home without it.
8. The best part of waking up is Vegas in your cup.
9. Don't you wish everyone used Vegas?
10. Vegas - a San Francisco treat.

The LVCVA is paying way too much for the hack creativity that R&R produces.

Everyone has problems. Even those who appear perfect to the outside world. I completely respect Agassi for admitting to this fault. Unlike most celebrities who admit to a failing only when being squeezed or in attempt to gain something by the disclosure, Agassi had nothing to gain here except the clearing of his own conscience. I'm willing to give Agassi a pass, and my feeling is that most other people will be also.

There are way too many foster parents in Clark County who are in it for the money. Anyone familiar with the situation knows this. Further, foster kids often complain that the money paid to their foster parents to care for them is disproportionately spent on the foster parents' biological kids instead.

I guess what boggles the mind the most is that CPS removes children from their parents often due to poverty, and then places the kids with foster parents and pays the foster parents to care for them. Why not just give more assistance to the biological family unit? It's class warfare, that's why.

If Koloskie is angling for the permanent job, he's not helping his cause by making excuses for the most reviled man in Las Vegas right now (Coach Sanford, who, as it turns out, is simultaneously being lauded as a hero in Reno.)

Here a little advice on the job search, Mr. Koloskie: Lose Sanford now and you have a shot. Keep defending him and you might as well move back into the small office now.

This guy is a class act. He was my algebra teacher some 14 or 15 years ago. I had forgotten about his coaching.

The problem with themed resorts is that they were actually decreasing gaming revenue. The guy who themed New York New York told me they made a mistake by "over theming" the place because, instead of looking at the slot machines, gamblers were looking at all the themed decorations in the casino.

R&R is a one-trick pony that is waaaaaay overpaid. First of all, it didn't even come up with the "What Happens Here, Stays Here" slogan. At best, R&R "repurposed" it from another campaign. Then, the "your Vegas is showing" campaign began. Too bad Tide detergent has an ad, "Your Tide is Showing," feauturing Kelly Rippa. If R&R is going to get all that money from the tax-funded LVCVA, then R&R should at least be coming up with original material. It's an agency full of hacks.
