Come on... It's not like there is NO OTHER BAR open in MGM Grand! Let's not get too crazy with this...

This entire story is all BS. This is LANNI'S project, not Murren's. Remember, this was half done when Lanni stepped down, so it was conceived and designed by Lanni, not Murren!!

The only thing Murren can claim are the cost overruns, the accidents and the near financial train wreck with Dubai World!

Nate is correct. The "evil" slot operators are not going to mess with what is essentially a money machine. They are permitted to take a guaranteed amount of money from the machines, so they will not up the percentage without the approval of the gaming authorities. That's a big red tape process and why go through that if you've already got the golden goose?

Makes sense. I think they'll do a great job. And if they can pick it up for pennies on the dollar and eliminate their own debt at the same time for pennies on the dollar, sounds like great management to me, as a shareholder. Sour grapes maybe?

Icahn owns Tropicana Entertainment, which includes the Trop in AC, a couple of Nevada casinos (including Montbleu) and several midwest and southern riverboats but DOES NOT own the Tropicana in Las Vegas. Two completely different companies. But if anyone has Wall Street connections and the ability to fund the finish of the Font, it's Icahn....

Sanford's made a nice comeback. Give him some credit.

I live in BC and felt it too! About 2 seconds of shaking and it woke me up!

Mr. Newton,

How important was your acquittal of having mob ties in that suit in the 1970s when now AGA president Frank Fahrenkopf defended you? Did that save your career?

Jan Jones and Jim Murren are terrified that Reid will turn on the gaming industry. Even Steve Wynn, in his harange of the Obama administration, exempts Reid from his criticism call him a "conservative" Democrat. Look again, Steve. Who's driving the bus on the health care vote upcoming in the Senate???

I agree with sbbcnv! We've got all the solar power and we don't get a dime's worth of power from them? Maybe it's time BC built it's own solar plant and distributed that power to residents and businesses. Or would that betray the lie that solar produces even a dime's worth of power without government subsidies?
