I find it ironic the State employee resigns and he is not the one with the over inflated salary. Why doesn't NPRI go after the nonsense of collective bargaining for ONLY county and city workers. How many county and city workers make more than the Governor, who is responsible for the State budget.
You do realize SS is a non self sustaining program? I really hate it when a politician tells it like it is. I want a President that thniks America is #1.
Once again, Schwartz fails to make a few phone calls and show a comparison to other Western States. Show both sides of the coin. Perhaps a contact list from Utah, Idaho, Oregon, Arizona, New Mexico and Washington whould be on your things to do list.
I wish Schwartz would do a little honmework. How about a few examples of other GOP and Dem Governors. What about your douple dipping Speaker in Hawaii before the ink had dried. Disengenious! When he shows up on weekends and Holidays are you subtracting those. I guess your editor doesn't allow you to use that type of math.
So how many would be laid off with a 10% cut?
Put the money in the classroom. Teachers have been taking it in the shorts for a long time. When more than half the CCSD employees are support staff you have a major problem. Cut 50% of the admin. and pay the teachers.
Teachers, take a stand! Demand your administration show their books. Demand the money makes it to the classroom. Your Unions commercials are pathetic. When a large majority of K-12 and Higher Ed. Administraition make more money than any State or Elected offical your premise is pretty weak. Open the books!
So how did the Speaker get the Supreme Court to change the Legislature?
tbvegas,
You do realize Governor Guinn has been the most popular Governor in the last 30 years. Compromise wins elections, not tea bags or granola.

Hey Schwartz, How about doing a nice Christmas story on the 50 pages of County and City workers that make more than the true State employees. The higher ed and counties have fleeced this State for years and stuck it to the State workers for years. Hold everyone to the same standard and then you can begin to control the budget. Until then, everything is just smoke, mirrors and who has the best paid lobbyist.
