to be raped in any hospital is worth $1000.00 to the "regulators" who fixed this fine amount? it should happen to them.
it was "never prosecuted"? why? too easy to prosecute?
that is a locked facility - whose fault is it? the victim's?
the "medical clearance" done at local hospitals is a joke -
they resent having to treat or diagnose anything at all to do with the mentally ill -
and this is one of the most mentally ill populations in the country - the great state of Neva=dah.
the "Great Recession"? listen, Cook, mental health services have NEVER been adequately funded in this "State" - thanks to the cold-hearted, compassion-free goons in charge.
truly disgusting. when will any of them get consciences!
with the state of our economy, State and Federal, being what it is, it would be a good time to "trim the fat" all around - why not start with the racist, elitist, fascist brigade which passes as the prosecutors' office (as a whole - there's always a few good apples in a very rotten barrel)-
having observed "court proceedings" in this town on more than one occasion, it is appalling how arrogant, ill-tempered, bloodless, and categorically STUPID these folks are - and you would swear that their feces don't smell!!!
most of them deserve swarthy pay cuts, but they sure as shootin' don't deserve a penny more than they already squeeze from the impoverished inhabitants of this hell-hole of a County.
the racist, elitist, class warfare exemplified by our Dept. of "corrections" is hopefully a pen stroke away from being dismantled, as is Gitmo, and other hell holes around the world.
Skolnik and his crew of sadists should be prosecuted for years of lying to the Legislature, and abuse of power.
It IS time for a Prison Oversight Committee made up of lay people with no vested interests.
Time to get the DOC off the backs of the NV taxpayer, and time to take care of our children, so that the need for prisons in this State evaporates.
what incredible hypocrisy for this State - firstly, to be the State of casinos/booze/criminal excess for the wealthy (drugs/Paris /booze/sex /prostitution/sexism/racism/elitism, etc., etc., etc.,) while condemning and criminalizing the same behavior in the poor - most of the women in prison are there for drug use (same behavior as in the wealthy residents and visitors and "celebrities" but not the same bank accounts) -
and, in collusion with the Clark County School District, which graduates fewer than 50% of all children from HIGH SCHOOL - (and what kind of future career does THAT make available to our children?) we decide to build prisons - and of course, that is a big industry in this state - built on the taxpayers' backs - fueled by the politics of fear and ignorance -
and, as so many inmates have untreated mental illness, and as this state provides such poor and/or non-existent mental health care for its residents, and as it is at least 10 (TEN) times more expensive per year to incarcerate rather than TREAT (for mental health and/or drugs and/or alcohol addiction) - then, it is obvious it is a WELL THOUGHT OUT PLAN BY THE DOC/COPS/DA/P&P to keep themselves in steady employment, build an evil empire known as "law and order", appropriate huge slices of our annual budget for their own self-serving, evil interests, and leave the rest of us in ignorance (thanks to the CCSD that's pretty easy in most cases). Wake up, voters, get the bums out of office - put the liars in jail (many of them lie repeatedly to our very own Legislature, and NOTHING is done to them by the Legislators they are in bed with) -
go figure. and continue to pay.

pierre - you're a cop, right?
"furtive movement" = breathing, right?
try to remember, even if you live in Nevada, that cops do not have the right to kill first, then lie about it later.
