I say if portable classrooms are good enough for the children, then they are certainly good enough for the administration! Sell the palace on Sahara and move the personell to portable units on the playgrounds of schools!!
citizen55, the truth? You want the truth?
Garvey is nothing more than Johnsons neighbor and personal hand puppett, not an original thought of her own in her head. With her hand up Garveys backside Johnson will be able to keep her fingers involved in the doling out all those wasteful contracts the Board of Trustees constantly is awarding to "campaign supporters."
Why are people such as Tom Collins, The CCEA, and Ruth Johnson so interested in putting Garvey on the board? They want someone there who is going to keep out of "their business" and believe me it is their busine$$!!
Shame on you to the Las Vegas Sun!
When did taking an objective stance and reporting the news get supplanted with selling out to the highest bidder? Perhaps you are simpy just following the example set by one of your endorsements, Janison. Playing favorites when it comes to granting contracts to those who supported her campaign financially.
As for Garvey, once you actually hear this woman talk you may reconsider your support. A "PTA mom" knows very little about how the educations system should be run. Perhaps I should become a dentist, after all I brush after every meal. Just because I know how to put gas in my car and change my oil does not make me fit to run for president of Ford Motor Company.
What is worse if this puppet is elected that just means four more years of her neighbor on the board. And that means not only will the puppet be getting the hand up its rear, but District students and teachers will as well.

"Slate backed by teachers defeats change agents in rise to board" what that should say is that "Slate backed by anti-teacher organizations defeats change agents in rise to board"
Ms. Richmond you must be smoking crack, either that or you are the most gullible person on the face of the planet. I am truely sick of your constant slant when it comes to reporting teachers and education in this district. You really have no idea what you are talking about other than what you are being spoon fed by the upper administration in your office over there on Sahara!
