Dear Mr. Allen;

After reading your article of August 30th regarding Dr. Prabhu, I know for a fact, you’ve never been to either of Doctor Prabhu’s medical offices.

I’ve been a patient of his for 11 years. I’ve sat in his waiting room, sometimes for as much as 45 minutes because he is so busy treating patients during the cold and flu season or the beginning of allergy season.

His waiting rooms aren’t fancy, but there are plenty of chairs because no one is every turned away. There are two check-in windows, one for patients with an appointment and one for walk-in. When was the last time you saw a doctor without an appointment?

I’ve seen Doctor Prabhu moving from room to room with a young doctor tagging at his side, trying desperately to learn how “real world medicine” works. He is a selfless teacher, a patient listener and remarkable doctor.

In my youth I worked at a County Hospital in San Bernardino. I remember seeing resident doctors working 48 hours straight, dead on their feet but perusing their dream of being a doctor.

I’m appalled at these doctors who come to the United States on a J-1 visa, sponsored by Dr. Prabhu and have the gall to complain about being over worked and not having access to work in medically underserved areas. If that’s all they want, they can stay in their own countries because most of them come from countries where only 10% of the population ever has access to medical care at all and if it’s so bad here, why do they want to come here? This is what it comes down to. Shut up and learn under the tutelage of a brilliant doctor or go home and whine.

As for you Mr. Allen, I don’t think you did enough research before slandering Dr. Prabhu, but now you know where you can see a doctor in this town without an appointment and you will be healed.
