Generally speaking (and I grant that there is injustice present), the vast majority of our population has an even chance at being reasonably comfortable if they work at it. "Reasonably comfortable" does NOT meant rich, but able to pay for food, shelter, and have a good time.

Many of the social benefits that people clamor for are things that should be done by families and charitable organizations, NOT the government. Even retirement should be one's personal responsibility. If you do not provide for it on your own, then you should have raised children who show their appreciation of you changing their diapers by being willing to change yours.

The goal of government, progressive or any other, should be to see to it that everyone gets a fair shot at a reasonable life, NOT that everyone has an expectation of a minimum level at the expense of those who make the most of what they have.

The Founding Fathers would again call for a revolution if they could see how our political parties are forcing religious views down our throats and placing us in debt for generations to come while at the same time driving us into bankruptcy with insane trade policies.

Our elected leaders are suffering from a severe cranial-rectal inversion.

It is a real shame that there exists today no party that would accept Ben Franklin or Teddy Roosevelt as standard-bearers. Until such a party exists, I must remain un-affiliated. The terms used to describe those two men have been hijacked and mangled beyond recognition.

It will do no good to create anything here as long as we continure to import goods made with cheap labor overseas. The employers here simply can not compete agasint that, and in fact are stupid to try to.

It's long past time for FAIR trade laws and agreements.

Posted on: Judge to rule whether Lt. Gov. Krolicki case continues

"Krolicki, a Republican whose name was discussed as a possible candidate against Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, has called the charges politically motivated. Reid and Masto, both Democrats, have vehemently rejected those allegations."

How could anyone think that Reid would be involved in something like this to remove one of the strongest opponents he could face next Novemeber?
