Someone said "people are human and make mistakes"... you have GOT to be kidding.. this was no "mistake"... I agree with Mike G! Only thing I disagree with is wishing them any luck at all.. they deserve permanent loss of licensure, huge fines and lengthy imprisonment... every single person who "knew" what was going on and failed to alert authorities, and especially those who participated directly or indirectly in this heinous negligence... no negligence is too kind... downright criminal acts of attempted murder!
I liked your letter, and couldn't agree more...
I have been wondering, myself, why the media has decided to go on an all out attack over the past few weeks in an attempt to destroy Sen. Clinton's bid for the White House. She truly is the more qualified of the two Democratic candidates, and represents the core of the Democratic party and its values.
The media is far too influential today, and is able to significantly affect how the public feels about literally everything. Lately, in the "spin" given by the news media, Sen. Clinton can do nothing right and Sen. Obama can do nothing wrong... and "Yes, it is spin". The media has even compared Obama to JFK, for heaven's sake, thus implanting the idea in the public mind that this person really walks on water in spite of the fact that there is no real track record for miracle working here. These ideas catch on and every anchor, every talk show host and every local personality repeats what they hear the big news anchors and pundits saying so they can appear "knowledgeable" and "in tune".
Let's think about this for a moment.... I can't help but think that ultimately it is in the best interest of the Power Elite (ref. C. Wright Mills) in this country to make sure that it's "puppets" work to destroy any candidate that would actually present a real threat to the continued reign of republican politics in this country (the politics that are bleeding the nation dry to fill the pockets of the wealthiest few). I believe that a battle of two moderates (Clinton and McCain) "could" end in the possibility of a Democratic president in the White House once again - particularly since some very conservative media personalities have "endorsed" Sen. Clinton over Sen. McCain in their cynical way (that media influence on the public again.) I further believe that in a battle between a fairly moderate Republican and a very liberal Democrat... well, let's just put it this way... the wealthiest will have their tax breaks protected for another 4 -8 years and corporate welfare will continue to flow to "those who have".
So... I can't help but wonder what will happen if Sen. Obama wins the nomination this summer. What will the media do then? Will it turn it's ugly snarl on him next? Will there be an "amazing series of revelations and accusations" that will come out between the end of August and the beginning of November in an effort to tarnish his image so that the public will begin to view Sen. McCain more favorably in time for the election... or maybe the media will just call him "liberal, liberal, liberal" to the point where the middle American is afraid and that's all it will take to send them to the "red" on election day. It all begs the question... Are the attacks on Sen. Clinton by the media now just a way to make way for a continued Republican presidency in November?

Oh, by the way.... as to Burnham center question... I have been told by the Health Dept. that is "by your discretion" whether to be tested or not. "At this time" only the Shadow Lane center is "officially involved". MY "discretion" is sending me immediately for testing...
