"In this Obamanation of America can I suggest brown shirts for all." What a load of C***! Too much talk radio, I suspect. Even Russ Limbaugh's mother dissed him, saying when he was growing up, he couldn't get anything right. Now he is the spokesperson for the right-wingers. Go figure!
Ed Foster is a retired administrator from New York, who has lived here for many years. When he retired, the district had to hire four people to do his job. While he has no local experience and has been following the travails of local teachers, I feel his points have merit. I have known such "one year 20 times" teachers. Usually they wise up and become administrators, where they are indoctrinated into the prevailing mindset of the district. I am so glad to be retired after 26 years here.
Re: bobojake
Another right-wing rant from the ideologically challenged. Who is this Rusty Humphries character? I was going to suggest bobojake get a life, until I remember that I listen/watch the opposite view on MSNBC. What a country we live in to allow such opposing viewpoint to exist! Go Rachel Maddow!
I first saw Coco at the Potomac Blues Festival with John Mayall many years ago.
Albert Collins played at Calamity Jane's club with Debbie Davies as lead guitar, who was romantically involved with Coco years ago.
Gwen Collins used to attend Coco's shows at the Railhead. Coco always recognized her. One year one of the Chambers Bros. was with her.
Albert Collins is buried in the Davis Funeral Home cemetery across from the airport off Eastern. Check Find a Grave.com. The wake at the Riviera after Albert's funeral was remarkable. Blues singers and artists flew in from everywhere and played until the sun came up and beyond.
In 1982, I came to Las Vegas as a newly minted teacher and was assigned to Booker Sixth Grade Center, a block away from these apartments. I had thought it was a good idea to live in the neighborhood where I was teaching. (I did say "newly minted"). One of the places I checked out was Carey Arms, the previous name of Buena Vista. As I drove up to the office, I was met by a police officer of the North Las Vegas PD, who was responding to an incident. He told me moving in would be an unwise move. I never forgot those words.
The Gerson projects were on the opposite side of Booker. The PE teacher had a drill for the students that, in case of gunfire, they should lie prone on the ground. The Gersons were demolished, Booker was replaced, now the Buena Vistas are next. Progress!
When administrators are placed as teachers back in the classroom, they still retain their present salary. I suppose the difference in paying subs and this salary schedule is somewhat mitigated.
There are administrators who left the classroom because they wanted to get away from students. There are also administrators who were not very good teachers. Maybe they are the same...
As an aside, Joe the Plumber today had his back taxes paid by listeners of a radio station. His 15 minutes of fame must have paid off.
Dave202 would not know a class act if it came up and bit him on the ***. Go find a place that has entertainment that you enjoy, but whose music probably won't stand the test of time.
The neighbors have been aware of the escalating tensions between the pit bulls and the new baby. The parents had enough warning from the dogs to remove them from the house. Maybe the D.A. should revisit the no charges will be filed idea. Hate to dump on the family, but they were made aware by others. Go figure!!!

Why do all these right-wingnuts write and complain about a letter published in the Sun? Their paper is the R-J. The Repubs are not going to vote for any health care. Their representatives have been bought by the insurance companies and the pharmas. They are not in any way concerned about the American public.
