It's time for all Nevadans to see what they are paying for, and will be paying for until the end of time. After all, Clark County residents pay one quarter percent of their sales tax to SNWA, and money from public land sales (the PUBLIC's land) goes to SNWA. Yet, SNWA operates in secrecy, using power and money to create more power and money. Let's see the books. Let's see why millions are being spent on ranches 250-300 miles from the Las Vegas Valley. Let's see the true costs of building a 250+ mile pipeline, wells, power to run it all, maintenance, security, and so on. Let's see the cost of air quality damage to areas east of the valleys that will become dust bowls. Let's see the true economic costs to the residents of White Pine, and Lincoln, Counties and Utah. Let's have an open, honest, look at what this would do the future of Las Vegas. Growth cannot continue forever. And, if we use up all the agricultural land for building houses, or sucking the water away for another development, another casino/hotel, another artificial lake in the desert, etc., what will we eat?

If only about 10% of the homes in the valley are water efficient, it seems there's lots of water that could be saved by retro-fitting. Recycling water would also help save, especially on the costs of pumping to and from the lake, and evaporation loss in between trips. There needs to be some real leadership that to date seems to be lacking. Also, low flow shower heads are not available in the hardware stores in any great number. They're much easier to find in other communities/states.
