Mikeg, To each his own. Some want to read and some want to play poker online (which my husband does NOT find boring) and others like to use online casino's and play slot machines. The issue is that when a person WORKS and earns their own money they should have a right to spend it however they please as long as it's not morally wrong or exploitive of others. As long as adults venture into these CHOICES being fully aware that they can't expect the government (ie taxpayers) to support them if they lose everything they should be able to make their own informed decisions. When the government starts telling people how they can/can't spend their money it's truly the beginning of the end.

As for War and Peace - nah, I'll take a pass.

Most of these chat boxes can be turned off - so to those being 'harrassed' TURN IT OFF. As for the one who was harrassed over the phone - hmmmm - wonder how they got her phone number. Give me a break - adults who earn their money should have every right to spend it however they want as long as they understand that the government is NOT obligated to help them out if they go broke.

And the Repugnacants had nothing whatsoever to do with the mess we find ourselves in right? Ya, thought so. When will people get it that ALL politicians, be they Dem or Rep. are only in politics for one reason - to LINE THEIR OWN POCKETS - how else can one explain spending MILLIONS to get elected to a job that pays a fraction of what was spent obtaining the job. ALL politicians are CROOKS so I see NO WAY out of this mess in the foreseeable future - our so-called Democracy is questionable at best - just try to NOT rent your house to someone with 6 kids who you just KNOW will destroy it (and not pay the rent on time, if ever) see how fast you will discover all the 'freedoms' you DON'T have.

Doesn't the government have enough REAL issues to concern themselves with? Whatever happened to all our so-called 'freedoms' in this so-called DEMOCRACY that we are supposed to be living in. How free are we really when the government wants to tell us how/where to spend our money - who we have to sell/rent our homes to - businesses who can't decide for themselves whether they want to let people smoke inside their establishment (it's the PEOPLE who can always choose NOT to patronize a smoking establishment if it bothers them that much). Why doesn't the government worry about regulating businesses like the credit card reporting bureau's who could care less if they ever get around to updating your credit history when you DO get things cleaned up - no, they only care about trashing your credit - that's where the government would best serve the people who elect and pay for these politicians (US, the WORKING TAX-PAYING citizens). As for online gambling - it's my money and I will spend it as I see fit - and if I go broke I know the government will NOT be there to bail me out (nor should they be).

Maybe they can start by co-ordinating bus runs. I work in a gated community where we have 3 or 4 buses daily coming in to pick up 1 or 2 kids at the most. All that gas to bus 1 special needs child - how bout getting a small van and picking up all the kids at once and then taking each child to their respective schools? Nah, that makes too much sense.
