Yeah, Herdon, the former D.A. He is certainly not biased having worked with Rogers and DiGiacomo. First clue, the judge should not have worked in the DA's office if presideing over this case. Second clue in this case, the plot allegedly took place in August 2007. Yet neither Leavitt nor DiGiacomo were notified of any threats to them until January 2008 shortly after both of them filed for election. Nor were they provided any protection. How serious were these threats if law enforcement did not even notify the intended vivtims until 5 months later. Prision bragging is one thing. In a real threat, law enforcement would have moved to protect the victims. Is there any proof of a hiring of hit men? If so, then shame on the police for not notifying the alleged victims. If not, then it is just prision talk and we are wasting our money prosecuting this idiot for thinking about killing people. In this country even stupid, immoral thoughts are protected as long as long as there is no real threat.
Do not count out Steven Horsford..Check out the 2009 session. Horsford is Obama to Buckley's Hillary and Rory's Joe Biden....
Why is the City constantly giving away money to people who have the money to pay for it? If the property was in private hands, you would never see such a deal. The owners already have $100,000,000 into this project. Make them pay the other $50,000,000. THIS IS WHY THIS STATE IS ALWAYS BROKE AND UNDERFUNDED. THIS, BILLY WALTERS, ETC... EVERYBODY IS GETTINGTHESE RIDICULOUS DEALS...
Why does Horsford have to kiss Buckley's rear? She will be gone soon, maybe even in a couple of weeks depending on the Supreme Court. He is the one that definitely will be around. If I was Buckley, I would be more concerned about getting along with Horsford and not insulting him. He could well play Obama to her Hillary Clinton.
Well, this is what happens when you are in the "loop" as Thalia Dondero's son-in law. You might want to look into how Loop went from junior juvenile probation officer to assistant court administrator after his marriage to Marilyn Dondero while Thalia was on the Clark County Commission. You might also want to ask why the court administrator and the judges keep hiring Loop every year since he retired at a salry more than he was making before he retired. You might also want to ask why the County Commission has to approve anything the courts do. What happen to separation of powers? The County is merely the designated cash register. When the bill arrives, they are suppose to pay it. PERIOD. The county has no reason to question the bill. HOWEVER, the public does. Hold the Judges responsible. $150,000? Are you kidding me? There must be people who are willing to lobby that are cheaper than that. Why is the judiciary spending money like a drunken sailor? Why are the judges statewide- about 100 of them getting a $30,000 raise. That's $3,000,000 a year that is being wasted. They also want more pensions. That $3,000,000 could hire more judges to run a night court and serve the public rather than to serve themselves. It's time for the public to get the pigs away from the trough.
VegasLee: When you go to the store and pay sales tax on your purchases, do they ask you what you are going to do with the item? no, they do not. you pay the tax and then you do whatever you want with it. Use it, give it away, give it to charity. So when the casinos buy things, what does it matter what they are using it for? does it benefot their business? Are they deducting it from their federal returns as a business expense to promote their business? How do you know how much they gave away and how much they used? You pay your tax and the casinos should pay theirs. Comps are a choice. They are a cost of doing business. No one is forcing the casinos to comp.
Does anyone else see the outrageousness of this "request"? The State has no money, the county and city claim to have no money and the police chief thinks that this is the time to start building a new building? Are you kidding me? And no, the brass does not have to all be together. Most of them are at City Hall. What we need to have is deconsolidation of the "power structure". What about more stations in neighborhoods with some of the brass headquarterd their so that they can keep an eye on the rank and file. There are cars, faxes, phones and even teleconferencing in this century. There is no need for a campus full of brass. Community policing is the best. Growing up in NY, there were plenty of police stations. Kids knew the cops and this was in the 80's. Its time to for a return to neighborhood stations and if we must build, then it should be for the benefit of the community and not for the brass. and Vegaslee is right. Where are the numbers in all of this.

The Supreme Court is a Supreme Joke. They let Assad jail people who aren't even before his court and say that does not deserve a public reprimand. But this guy. Posin, works a deal,a plea bargain so to speak, with the State Bar on whatever he did, and the Supreme Jokers say its not tough enough. Nothing like protecting the judges who are dirty and out of control. Do you know why what happens in Vegss, stays in Vegas? Because the shameful, unethical, sometimes downright illegal behavior of our elite little crowd of losers, is so appalling that it drives legitimate business away. Expand the Nevada economy? Bring better jobs? Never going to happen . A business cannot get a break here. Neither can newcomers. We see what the good ole boys do to those who do not comply with their evil ways.
