One other event to consider for a football stadium -- the Pro Bowl.

Hawaii is unwilling to build a new stadium, so the game is in Miami this year. Las Vegas could certainly get into the Pro Bowl mix. Las Vegas could easily become the permanent host once the event is an overwhelming success -- as it no doubt would be.

@dynamo

I was thinking about Fremont Street, too. How arrogant of Harrah's to mention that nobody in Las Vegas has thought of this before. No wonder the company is failing. I would be bullish on this idea if it was anybody else doing it. Harrah's will make it flounder.

me's correction of Tark is more distracting than the coach's colorful memory. Have some respect.

Gorespawn realizes that all of the "rude" people living in Las Vegas are actually the transplants from the East Coast who can't drive, or behave in an organized society, right? Otherwise, they would not have fled from their hometowns.

Just saying.

I was wondering. There is a famous quote out there attributed to Tark about, "The NCAA was so mad at (big time program) they put (small time program) on probation."

I've seen it in many variations. Out here in California it's, "The NCAA was so mad at UCLA they put Cal State Fullerton on probation."

I was wondering if the quote was true, first off, and what were the programs he actually cited in the quote.

As always, great stuff.
