what Dennis said.....
The fish stinks from the head on down. We will witness some world-class C.Y.A. moves in the coming months and years.
I believe that eventually these scandals will be put in the store front window.
It is my hope that justice will prevail for the tortured, the torturers and most importantly for the families of the victims of the attacks on 9/11/01
Rest in peace
We saw the The Pete Best Band here at the Fest for Beatle Fans. They were quite good. Maybe they could do Thursday nights. Don't count out The Hoff. He might just slip in under the wire.
Earmarks are an inflammatory subject but are really only around one percent of total federal spending. Should some of them be eliminated? Absolutely. However the scope and depth of our problems are much more severe.
Our national problems are not going to be solved in 70 days perhaps not even in 70 months.
The President has no magic wand to make this all go away.
There is a saying that if you don't make mistakes you aren't doing anything. President Obama has had to hit the ground running to try to ease this crisis. He will make mistakes as do we all. The President deserves our support for trying to do the best job he can in preserving this great nation.
ESPN showed the non call on Oscar Bellfield from several angles. He was tripped, no doubt about it. The announcers on ESPN remarked that it should have been an automatic foul and they credited Kruger for his composure.
Stevenson's taunting charge was a punk move but what can you do?
I'm proud of The Rebels and Lon Kruger and will always support them.
The Cox Arena in San Diego is not a bad place, however the concession stands and the restrooms are located OUTSIDE the arena. (No alcohol, not even beer is served). Standing in line outside the arena for 15 minutes in the pouring rain to use the restroom and to buy a soda like we experienced one time when The Rebels played there, was not fun. Thank God for the Thomas and Mack.
I agree with TRUE_FAN's assessment.
I also agree with Mr. Kantowski in regards to Wink Adams. I have been a Rebel fan for over 30 years and having met Mr. Adams, I can say he IS a class act and a fine young man. He is also one of my favorite all- time Rebels. He and The Rebels deserve our support even if they have struggled lately.
Great article! Also of note: John Cowsill is married to Vicki Peterson, lead guitarist of The Bangles. Ms. Peterson was also a member of the Continental Drifters and has performed with Susan Cowsill in a side project called "The Psycho Sisters".
I wish The Cowsills all the best!

Thanks for your wonderful reporting as always. The show last night was "Magnificent" We're glad you had the chance to meet President Clinton.
Last night we left the stadium from the west at 12:15 p.m. and proceeded west on Tropicana. We were shocked and dismayed to see hundreds of concert goers having to walk from the stadium west all the way to the Boulder Highway and beyond ,some desperately trying to hail taxis which did not stop. These poor people, many of whom were young females, were left stranded on a desolate stretch of Tropicana with no street lights or sidewalks.
Having just returned from spending a week in Washington D.C., a city with a fully functional public transportation system, I once again saw how dysfunctional our system is.
The mission of the Taxicab Authority and the RTC should be to make sure the public is served.
The tourists and locals who attended the U2 show and had to depend on public transportation were not served. This lack of service placed many of the customers of Sam Boyd Stadium in a dangerous and potentially tragic situation.
This kind of thing should never happen again. The RTC, the TA ,UNLV and all the other agencies involved need to get their acts together to serve the public good. Public safety should always be the top priority.
The next governor of Nevada should do what ever is necessary to secure the funding to purchase more buses, develop light rail or whatever is needed to insure the public has the transportation system it deserves. The transportation situation after the show last night was an epic FAIL. We can do better.
