Now here is something that we all can be proud of for our kids. Shakespeare. Well done!
RON TAYLOR is the only viable choice for Seat B seat on the CCSD School Board. His integrity and expertise will be assets on a board that has lost the true meaning of education and children. My advice to Chris Garvey is simple: drop out of the race, and keep cleaning teeth.
CCSD is afraid that Taylor would win, and as a result CCSD would have to "open its books" to a teacher/trustee. CCSD does NOT want to do that. CCSD's partner in crime, CCEA, is NOT supporting Taylor because CCEA knows that Taylor would also look at this ineffective organization that is supposed to look out for teachers. CCEA has NOT done that in that last two decades. If you want CCSD to start acting the way it should in regards to students, parents, and teachers then there is only one solution -- VOTE FOR RON TAYLOR FOR CCSD BOARD SEAT B.
"in many schools, high absentee rates make it difficult for students to catch up on work that must be completed in class. "
Sorry.... Students have no excuse to be absent from school. If CCSD enforced the absences regulation, this would not be a problem.
Sorry, CCSD -- I refuse to purchase items that CCSD should provide. My job as a teacher is to teach, and not to purchase copy paper, pencils, folders, etc. Any administrator who does not supply the materials to teachers should be terminated. That's my simple rule of thumb.
All the more reason to give her the job. Her philosophy is a simple one: WHERE'S MINE?
I truly believe that CCSD owes a tremendous gratitude to those who have served with distinction in the armed forces. The very least that should be done would be to name the very next high school in Clark County -- Veterans Memorial High School. Anything less than that would show that CCSD would rather name schools for political hacks, casino moguls, and less than respectful administrators. In fact how many schools in this school district have been named for retired teachers and support staff? The answer is darn few..... these are the folks who have given the most to students in CCSD. But you see the Board of School Grandmas ... er.... Trustees are more than willing to provide this distinction to all others than those who have served with distinction.
The kids learn to cheat at an early age. They see their parents "cheat" on IRS forms. Sometimes their parents "cheat" by having affairs. And they learn to "cheat" by looking at what CCSD does to its teachers by not treating them fairly. Yes, CCSD cheats teachers.... what a concept!
Again the CCSD is protected by the courts, the state legislature, and any other government entity that we can find. Justice? Not in Nevada.
I can't wait to see the Mormon Grandmothers on CCSD Television. To paraphrase WGN's catch-phrase -- This is TV you can't believe our money is being spent on.

Well done! "The play's the thing..." Kids would love Shakespeare even more if they were permitted to "see" the play instead of just "reading" the play. We owe this to our kids..... Give them these opportunities and they will see the beauty in the words, the thoughts, and the ideas of the Bard of Avon. Parents should be given a tax break if they expose their kids to drama. Take them to Cedar City, Utah for the Shakespeare Festival. It will open their minds, hearts, and souls to one of the greatest writers we have ever had. I commend the school district and these schools for giving our kids this excellent opportunity.
