Perhaps in a parallel universe somewhere there is a Nevada that is politically mature, technologically and medically advanced with an educated populace that could actually participate as part of a consortium of states functioning as the nation’s new heartland. However in THIS universe, Nevada and surrounding states WOULD become the new “heartland” only if the earth's poles experience massive axial reorientation.
