I agree with Wally. Why can this be all over the county?

Jeff,

I guess you were not around when a bunch guys met in Philadelphia way back in the day.

If you think the folks that are with a "Occupy Las Vegas " are "disorganized and disillusioned" you are very wrong. The SEIU is NOT influencing the organization. I have been to several of the meetings in person at UNLV in the evenings as well as watching them on the internet via Live Stream. I was also a union member with the state that is why in my observations is correct.

So before you start going after a organization like "Occupy Las Vegas" get to know what this organization is all about and what the goals are.I do not speak for the organization because I am one person of many. This city, this county, this state, this nation needs solutions because what has happend. It is a great tragedy that this nation can not take care of it's own people. You must ask, why does a very small minority of people control with access by way of money to get there way? Do we want to end up lie the country south of our boarder?

"Good thing the Gun Rail was there he left out towards the un manned towers." If this is happening at HDSP, it was happening 10 years ago. There is a electric fence there. Is it on? I wonder.

Brad, I am so sorry I made you mad about the "possible facts" of the shooting. The CO's did there job in what they (he or she) did.

What needs to happen is continuing refresher courses...wait a minute. When I was in like you they weren't doing that.

First of all, there are no one working at the Nevada Department of Corrections with the title of "prison guard." The people that work at the prison better known as a correctional facility are called corrections officer. I was one just short of 16 years.

The individual, Gaspar Barajas-Rivas was more then likely being released for a "early out" because he may have been working in the culinary. The public will never know because of the "secrecy" the Nevada Department of Corrections has when it comes to so called security concerns in the event there was a problem. I can guess that Gaspar Barajas-Rivas left the cell with his cellmate who worked in the culinary then went in a different direction towards the fence

The Posse Comitatus Act is a United States federal law (18 U.S.C. 1385) passed on June 18, 1878, after the end of Reconstruction, with the intention (in concert with the Insurrection Act of 1807) of substantially limiting the powers of the federal government to use the military for law enforcement. The Act prohibits members of the Army from exercising nominally state law enforcement, police, or peace officer powers that maintain "law and order" on non-federal property (states and their counties and municipal divisions) within the United States.
The statute prohibits Army and Air Force personnel and units of the National Guard under federal authority from acting in a law enforcement capacity within the United States, except where expressly authorized by the Constitution or Congress. The Navy and Marine Corps are prohibited by a Department of Defense directive, not by the Act itself.[1][2] The Coast Guard, under the Department of Homeland Security, is exempt from the Act.
