Have fun swinging your golf club or rolling pin at the big bad burglars.....
If there are such effective ways of defending oneself, why do the police still carry guns? Even British police carry guns and they have EXTREMELY strict gun laws there. Your theory doesn't wash. By the way, cars kill far more people than guns do. How many do you have in your garage? I thought so.
sweetwinner,
I take it you don't have a gun in your house. Post your address so the bad guys all know to go to your place without worrying about you being able to defend yourself.
If you choose to not defend yourself when you or your family is put in harm's way, that's your choice. I'll continue to defend me & my family by responsibly exercising my 2nd Amendment right, thank you very much.
From the Aug. 15th, 2007 Review-Journal:
According to authorities, a home-owner in a gated community was awakened by noises and, to his horror, found an intruder choking his wife. The homeowner quickly ran for his gun and returned to discover two additional intruders. The men, at least one of them armed with a gun, held the homeowner's wife hostage and demanded cash and jewelry. Fearing his wife would be killed, the homeowner opened fire and at least one of the intruders shot back. The suspects fled. Two were sought by police; one died in the backyard.
I'm not a fan of the Governor's, but TWO years it's been since she says she was assaulted? Come on... this stinks.

Glad the cops weren't hurt. Why would you point a gun at police and expect anything other than to get shot?
