Patrick has obviously never studied art or viewed art with any rational thought in his life as it is plain to see.
The art department in UNLV, I can say is the least funded supported portion of the university which is sad as some of the most imaginative out of the box thinking individuals exist within the department. The facilities are old & undersized, classes are canceled at times due to faulty plumbing, it has happened to me at least a dozen times.
If anything UNLV partnering with the Las Vegas Art Museum could potentially help shine a spotlight onto the department and the university for new potential donors to step and lend a helping hand.
Seriously, I hate these investors and second home buyers. Four houses in my parents neighborhood got snatched from underneath me I had bids on due to them paying in cash, all investors. I'm trying to move closer to family, and every single time I'm pushed out of my bid by all cash offers. I qualified, I put in interest, and the next day sorry sir the home has a cash buyer. It's absolutely frustrating, even more so when they leave the homes empty, or remodel them only to put a for rent sign with astronomical rent leaving the house perma-empty.
Don't be stupid, this isn't an event done by the Mirage, or MGM-Mirage. This event is done weekly by Rhumbar, a bar & lounge operated by an outside group that rents space at the Mirage. Seems to me you're just bitter about not having everything handed freely to you without any questions
So I guess that since I enjoy outdoor recreation such as going on a hike turns me into a modern day hippie. I guess that because I am far and away from the age of retirement I'm prone to causing disturbances, crime, being a nuisance and destroying retiree lives.
Perhaps I should stay aspire to be more "retiree"' stay at home and vegetate watching tv and eating tv dinners while I collect social security, drive like a drunk, not watch out for others and back out suddenly, make poor driving choices, be unreasonably slow taking up space in shopping aisles, being cranky in general, and always talking about how the "goold ole' days" were.

Those of you that propose raising the tuition at UNLV to weed out the students that are there for "educated day care" amongst other outlandish ideas don't have a clue. With higher tuition costs, as a student, I will take my desire for an education and migrate elsewhere. I go to UNLV and stay in Las Vegas for family reasons, as well as trying to obtain a higher education. With tuition going up along with the quality of the learning environment stagnating, and even going down. I will end up cutting my loses, going to an out of state school where the amount I pay is in balance to the education I receive.
I know there are other students who see things this way in one form or another as well. Which would be a shame for Southern Nevada to fall farther behind.
Then again we are a blue collar city where you can earn big bucks with a GED. So I'm sure as I have seen most of you do not give a damn about higher education.
