I once got stuck in traffic on Maryland Parkway and Tropicana. It felt like forever.
Good to hear that they're fighting over rebounding position this year versus fighting over who is the better bowler. Seems to me like the team is working a bit harder this preseason.
Rob, what's the plan for Rene, Darger, and Adams post Rebeldom? Seems to me that Rene could be a solid glue guy in the NBA if he works on his shot. I strongly dislike Bruce Bowen but it seems like Rene could become a Bowenish player...
if they're not going after Rudd who are they going after? any idea?
are they just shelving the scholarship to put it to use for the next recruiting class?
Jasper, Willis, and Stanback as the perimeter players sounds pretty fierce. That's an NBA sized back court.
memorial might have finally lost a bit of its luster... UNLV is grinding and hitting shots and finally looking like a team that is valuing the ball.
creeping back... big three by wink
Turnip,
I would like to thank the state of Kentucky for the bourbon I am consuming in honor of St. Patrick. It will taste even sweeter after UNLV shuts down Meeks and Patterson tonight.
I think a lineup with Stanback, Willis, Jasper, Shaw and Lopez will be pretty formidable next year.
After years of fielding players 6'6" and below, it looks like next year's team will have more size than any team Kruger has coached--at least out on the perimeter.
I like what Bellfield brought us at the beginning of the season when he wasn't trying to force anything and he was patient. The Louisville winner seemed to give him an abundance of confidence that didn't translate into him playing any better.
I'm also excited to see if Chopper Jones Jr. can bring anything on the court...
After the first half it doesn't seem like the rebs have figured anything out. How is it that a team that plays all perimeter players has such a tough time playing perimeter defense? Our first half offense of "give the ball to Wink and get out of the way" has been an utter failure.
I blame Kruger. Does he not recognize that by not starting a guy over 6'6" or a guy with any interior presence we are doomed to lose on the glass and get dominated in the paint?
Our D has been collapsing the whole 1st half because SDSU gets penetration, our guys have to rotate because we have zero presence on the interior and then SDSU can just kick it out to the perimeter for a wide open 3 pointer.
Where's the team that beat the winner of the Big East regular season and made Arizona look like Cal Tech?

The best thing that can happen for the football program is for the basketball program to start bringing in lots of revenue. If basketball starts winning again there will be a lot more dough to go around and maybe then they can improve football facilities.
Hiring a football coach that can win with less talent would help also. They need a win at all costs mentality... go for it on 4th and 2 from your own 28 yard line, run the option ( a la Kantowski), and throw out a few fake fg to fake punt to touchdown like plays (a la the Redskins this past weekend).
Las Vegas as a whole only gets behind winners. Its a bit of a fair weather town and if a coach is able to win then the support will surely follow no matter where the stadium is located.
