jfnance, I don't ever recall Ron Paul supporting an increase in American troops ANYWHERE unless it is justified and done so in line with the Constitution.
You may taking things out of context, or, you may be right.
Either way, do you know of a better representative bringing this vision to light the way he is?
When will all of you blind partisans realize that your leaders are no different? Stop feeding into the hate and spend all of that time you use trying to find flaws in the opposition and apply that passion towards something useful, anything, I don't care. Stop wasting energy by bickering with your neighbors, that's exactly what the powers want you to do so you are more easy to manipulate and convince when they want to do something without opposition.
Divide and Conquer.
Wake up!
The politicians are the puppets blinding you from the interests behind the curtain pulling the strings "for your own good." Our Republic must be transparent and protected. Just because we inherited the good life doesn't mean it is permanent or pure. It's time for the people to do their part and run this government and hold it accountable like they are supposed to!
If people would pay as much attention to world events as they do to football, nobody would get away with hijacking our Treasury and staging conflicts around the globe.
Ron Paul believes in the Constitution and he may be the last one left who does. Sadly, we're too obsessed with money and gadgets to notice how its being interpreted. Fortunately, Americans are waking up. Once occupied minds are activating.
There is a war going on for your mind. If you are thinking, you are winning. Resistance is victory, defeat is impossible. Reach within you and find the means in which to gain your freedom. Fight as if the fate of everyone you know depends on it.
"All tyranny needs to gain a foothold is for people of good conscience to remain silent." - Thomas Jefferson
Looks like they found something else to draw attention away from the unregulated markets where the likes of AIG officials and Madoff can work undetected at other people's expense. And we thought the mob was bad?
Let's not forget that organized crime thrived because of poor government decisions. I'd rather them build water slides for children to enjoy than fund another luxury retreat for a CEO.

Ron Paul on National Security:
"Instead of securing our borders, we've been planning, initiating and waging wars of aggression. Within a few short years, we turned Iraq into the world's leading breeding ground for terrorists. Our military is spread thin all across the planet, yet we remain involved in dangerous power plays that unnecessarily put the lives of our soldiers at risk. And we brazenly squandered the wealth of our nation as if there were no tomorrow.
It doesn't make any sense unless you consider increasing the profits of the military-industrial complex to be in the "national interest", no matter what the cost to the rest of us may be.
America first. That is what Ron Paul's national defense proposal is all about. And with America he means all Americans, not just the elite. If elected President, Ron Paul will continue his efforts to secure our borders, hunt down the 9/11 terrorist planners (who are still at large), safely withdraw our troops from Iraq and other countries around the world, and finally overhaul the intelligence apparatus in cooperation with intelligence professionals rather than political opportunists."
