Read the statute Judy. The bad check unit operates strictly on the fees that are collected by bad check writers. No tax dollars are utilized by the unit. The offender pays 100% of the cost of his criminal act. The law doesn't permit the use of tax dollars. That's how government is supposed to work.
Raising gaming taxes is FOOLISH! When their taxes go up, the cost is passed on to the users of casinos. That means that local casinos, where locals go for entertainment, will charge more for their services. With lower taxes, the casinos can employ maids to clean rooms, waitresses and bartenders to serve your drinks, and all the other things that keep the economy moving. Think about that before you call for the government to dip into others pockets to pay for more "services" that don't benefit the majority of people in Nevada.
