Senator Cegavske:
And is a governor going to agree to calling a special session if the purpose is to impeach him/her? There needs to be an independent power to call the Legislature into session.
Kudos to the Chancellor and the ACLU for killing Christine Clark's abomination. It's a good thing there are concerned constituencies in the community, because this university administration and its toadies do not listen to dissent. So-called "progressives" have little tolerance for the older notion of "liberal" dialogue in a market of ideas. The best cure for bad speech is more speech, not a board of censors. Make all of UNLV a free speech zone!
Whatever his motive for calling a special session, JimBo is actually right for once about one thing: the interim finance committee can't fix this problem. If you live in one of the two-thirds of Senate or Assembly districts without a representative or vote on that committee, you're disenfranchised -- no say in what gets cut and by how much. It's government by oligarchy.
