Actually, Sufferin said that Kruger would never make it to the ncaa tournament. Then when he did (and won) Sufferin called it luck and said he would never do it again.
Then when he did it again, Sufferin (again) called it luck and said he would never do it again.
Sufferin cares more about the University hiring coaches he has approved than adding facilities and improving the program.
He doesn't want to see UNLV improve under Kruger's leadership, because he didn't like the hire and said Kruger would never have any success at UNLV.
He's not big enough to acknowledge that his predictions about Kruger have been dead wrong.
What other coach in the MWC has done anything on the national scene?
The MWC disappears off the map in the last half of this decade if not for Lon Kruger.
You've got to have a lot of respect for these guys who walk on and give it their all in practice for very little playing time.
He seems like a great addition to the team.
Yay! the defense improved!
We only gave up 5 touchdowns instead of 9! Hooray! We only lost by 20 so the next home game should be a sellout!
This team still can't tackle.
How much of a joke was that time out - fake FG play? Are you kidding me?
The fact that Sanford is STILL employed this morning tells you everything you need to know about UNLV Football. The AD/Pres don't care. No one demands results. Mediocrity and ineptitude are the norm, and will be tollerated.
I still remember Neal S's comment after the UNR game. Does anybody else? Does he?
Where's the accountability?
Pathetic.
It begins.
Restless tonight. So much anticipation.
Tomorrow might be the longest Friday I've ever experienced.
I pray that Lopez and/or Massamba are somewhat servicable this year.
Santee is NOT a center. I'm not sure he has what it takes to be out on the court at any position. He sure didn't last year (which is why he got benched).
We need some size. Some rebounding. Massamba and Lopez are the future. I hope those two get a lot of minutes against our weak OOC schedule (outside of UofA, Lville, K State).
It will be so dissapointing to see Shaw or Santee playing center with both a 6'10" and a 6'11" riding the pine. Especially since Santee will be gone next year. Develop those young guys.
He's STILL employed?
No one at UNLV cares about the football program. That much is clear.
Everyone talks a big game. No one is willing to lift a finger. What about Neal's statement after the UNR loss? I guess he figures no one cares enough at this point to hold him accountable.
If these pathetic losers let Sanford ride out the year, we should just scrap the football program and join the WCC.
Losses, excuses and indifference define UNLV Football.
Sandfor will be fired.
It's simply a matter time. I agree that the program will be better off the sooner it happens.
This season is over, so it really doesn't make that big of a difference.
Jerry K is in way over his head. It's somewhat of a positive that he's been given an audition and we've been able to see he's not the guy for the job. At least they didn't just hand over the position to him.
The one question I wish someone in the media would ask Sanford is: "Under what conditions would you consider resigning?"
So let me get this right. According to Jerry K, it's "absolutely premature for some fans to want a coaching change immediately"
I wish we had someone in the media that would press him on idiotic comments like that.
We're doomed if he gets the AD job.
It's hurting UNLV athletics every day he remains as the acting AD.
His statements are intellectually dishonest.
He knows Sanford has failed. He knows this team has quit on the coaching staff. He knows there's no chance we're going to a bowl game. He knows that the sooner the change is made, the better off UNLV will be.
Someone on Maryland Pkwy. DO SOMETHING. Will someone lift a finger? Pretty please? With sugar on top?
There's nothing left to learn. There are no remaining unknowns. Sanford and Therrell are losers. They have been handed hundreds of thousands of dollars and produced zilch. NO winning seasons. Failure after failure.
How much longer do they get to take the University, the fans, the city of Las Vegas to the cleaner?
Well it wasn't 69-6. But it was sure an embarrassing beat down......again.
Let's see if anyone in our big talking athletic department cares to lift a finger this week.
Neal......Jerry......is anyone listening?
Does anyone care?

Very excited for tonight. As painful as most of the exhibition was to watch, I still can't wait to get to my seats in the T&M.
With Santee losing his starting spot, I will be very interested to see how he does. Has the staff figured out the right move to motivate him to produce a Fresno St. type effort? Or is this going to be another death blow to his seemingly fragile psyche (like benching him last year)?
