Since I work full time, married and have a toddler, online seemed like a good solution for my hectic schedule. Now that I am wrapping up my first online class, I feel that this growing trend is filling society with un-educated frauds. I don’t believe that enough is being done to ensure that only hard working and deserving students graduate.

Issues of computer crashes, I’ve been busy with work and / or other excuses take a toll on group projects. I agree with Roxanna Scaglione when she said that “Members of online study groups often don’t fulfill their commitments, knowing they won’t have to look teammates in the eye later.”

I feel that I could have learned more at my own pace than with the aid of the online course that I attended. The main difference being that I wouldn’t have been given credit toward a degree. Since technology exists to have “pre-recorded lectures” or live meetings over the web, I don’t feel that these programs are using technology to the fullest.

I will definitely take a break this summer after this really bad experience and may try another online class in the fall. More than likely, I will begin preparations for the GMAT and apply to a traditional program.
