It is difficult to understand the thinking that says that we should support someone for the sake of unity. According to this nonsense, unity is more important than winning the election, saving America, or promoting the ideology that built the party. In the case of this election, McCain and Paul are just candidates. The same is true with Obama and Clinton. Until someone is crowned at the convention, there are no nominees. If unity means supporting policies that will continue to drive America to bankruptcy, then it is not a legitimate concept.
