For the record, the vote at St Rose was not really a raid. The internal strife in the union forced nurses to solicit the CNA to come here. When nurses are not given the respect they deserve, they know they have choices. Why would they want to pay dues to an organization that dismisses them? There was no "dirty campaign" by the CNA. The SEIU local was crawling with International organizers. The night of the vote, staff was waiting at nurses houses to bring them to the vote. All this is a resounding no confidence vote for the executive director. I believe the nurses in this valley might very well follow suit because it is true that other area nurses are contacting the CNA. The question is: Is CNA really "raiding" or are the nurses just fed up? Readers are smart and they will see the truth.

The above comment is true and Shana has followed Jane so blindly that a phone call would keep her "in line." Hilary Haycock's comments have sure changed since the "few dissenters" and we are strong and united comments of December. Just proves she knows less of the members' true sentiments than the board. Unity is not a given at this point and if the UMC nurses article was the proverbial "straw that broke the camel's back", that issue is still in the hands of the UMC nurses who signed the 150 or so CNA cards that are out there. I think SEIU is in real trouble here and putting a brave face on it is just what they are doing.
