The Obama Administration wants tar sands, oils shale and fracking.
In the Federal Register today:
"Notice of Availability of the Draft Programmatic Environmental Impact Statement for Allocation of Oil Shale and Tar Sands Resources on Lands Administered by the Bureau of Land Management in Colorado, Utah, and Wyoming"
http://www.gpo.gov/fdsys/pkg/FR-2012-02-...
"The BLM, through NEPA and the BLM planning process, intends to take a hard look at whether, given the current state of technology, future leasing opportunities should be focused on lower conflict lands with the approximately 2,000,000 acres currently available for potential development of oil shale, and the approximately 431,000 acres currently available for potential development of tar sands."
It is amusing that a group that uses the name "wilderness" in its title has endorsed so may big energy projects that destroy wilderness and destroy wildlife habitat on public land;. Maybe you hate public land and want it all removed. Maybe you like public land and your access was just cut off by a 6 square mile solar farm. Big corporate environmental poser groups are in bed with the industry. The "Wilderness" Society just signed this letter with the solar industry. They are not about "wilderness"!
See the letter here: http://wilderness.org/files/Joint-Commen...
The Sierra Club took 26 million dollars from the natural gas industry: http://ecocentric.blogs.time.com/2012/02...
This is not about wilderness. These are agenda drivin corporate environmental groups who follow the money.

So why don't we just censor all the people we don't agree with, right?
Barack has no real energy policy. It is mostly based on which lobbyists contributed the most to him. The whole climate change talk was only talk for Mr. Obama.
Efforts to play politics have created a political circus. The Republicans are a bunch of bickering clowns and Barack continues to show us that he is utterly clueless.
There is no clear goal for energy conservation rather a bunch of developers (democrats and republicans)coming up with science fiction energy plans like clean coal, and power towers that have never been tested on the scale they are being built. This is all about giving the nations wealth to a few developers as payback for political contributions. We have a choice this November between two energy pimps for big oil, big natural gas, big solar, big coal and big wind. Any questions?
All the people who thougt that these guys were going to save them from climate change are probably feeling a bit screwed now. Oil, Coal, Natural Gas and we will even subsidize a few more wind farms to create the illusion of climate change action.
"I'd rather see the pets eat them, it's not the dogs fault that their owner is a piece of $#!+."
Or we could feed you to both the dogs and homeless and Vegas would become a more pleasent place!
Let's ban poor people with dogs! Go get 'em! Why don't we just lock people up for having a pet now! Great idea Clark County! Las Vegas, the most hostile group of people in the world, just got more hostile!
Let's just get rid of the homeless and let's not forget to throw old Omar Orozco in the slammer when he is down on his luck. Better get on the right side of the police state, right Omar? Good God...
Just feed the birds. They won't be watching you all the time. It's very easy. Just don't let to metro guys catch you.
This editorial fails to see that the Crescent Dunes project is using one of the most expensive technologies out there. The molten salt power tower will never pay for itself.(ask anyone who is honest in the industry, if you can find an honest person who takes federal grants) Big solar and wind would have covered Nevada by now if it were economical. The construction job boom for Crescent Dunes will fade. Unemployment will still be a big problem. The band aid will expire about right after the 2012 elections, the Obama administration will use this project to try to con another 4 years out of voters. This really is about politics and scamming the public. The Sun really never looks at the reality of the situation rather they sugar coat facts to push a political agenda. Jobs for the project are being given to non-local union workers. Good for them, not for local people, but power rates will eventually need to go up when federal subsidies run out and Solar Reserve will only get a one time Federal pay off. So they will have to stop feeding off tax payers and now will need to parasitize rate payers. They also admitted that they can not build their California project without federal assistance. (same design)
Several of the owners of the company, Solar Reserve gave Senator Reid tens of thousands in political contributions during his last election.
Will Solar Reserve sell this project? Do they really want to be stuck with something this risky when the investor bubble bursts?
They are building this right next to an active sand dune. That means sand grains will blast all of the equipment every day for the next 30 years. Look at the old glass bottles laying around the site. After ten years of sand blasting, they look pretty degraded. Just saying...

So Frank Simmons, are you just jumping for joy over Obama's military actions? We all know what Bush did, and it was sadistic and honestly, you seem like you miss him.
Does it even bother you that Obama's military kills as many innocents as the Bush military. Does murder become OK when the so called liberals do it? Do we know how to think for ourselves yet, Frank? You put the same post on several times each day!
