Safetyone am I to understand you correctly? You got promoted after doing things such as filling your reports out as you were xmas shopping? If that's true then it would seem that you helped to create the problems Nevada currently faces. As if I understood you correctly what your saying is you cared so little about what you were doing you failed to even attempt to give your investigations the attention they deserved. Opting instead to make your job the lowest of priorities. Which is more than just a little disturbing. Nevertheless I assure you things are about to change for the better in Nevada and across the country and during that process I look forward to watching every last OSHA investigator who fails to do his/her job to the best of their ability be replaced by those who will. You are seriously underestimating the ability of Jordan, David & Hilda to get the job done and I for one will be laughing in the background when they prove you wrong.
Thanks for another great story Alexandra! Talk to ya soon.

Thumper,
I would love to hear more details about what happened to you as we are working with members of congress to prevent such injustices from occurring. Please contact me @ mvivenzi@usmwf.org or SafeInHeaven2002@aol.com.

LoL so I'm wondering how many times american gaming had to flag my comment to get it removed lol more proof for the crack junkie that The truth hurts. Oh well flag away oh hallucinogenic one it still wont change the fact that BOYD has publicly proven over and over again just how little it cares for its employees...
Like Travis, Richard and Dave.
So once again good luck kicking the habit and escaping your current state of delusion
Good for them! I hope that these kind of lawsuits become the norm. Then maybe just maybe we will see the day when workers & safety are put before profit and risk where they belong.
Wah Wah Wah Boo Hoo Wah Wah
That's all I'm hearing. Why should we care about the impact the recession is having on Boyd gaming. The recession is hurting everyone And here in the midst of it all Boyd expects the people to sympathize with them just because their not meeting their quota at the craps table?! How typical People are losing their jobs homes and entire families are being torn apart everyday and yet its the mufti billion dollar company executives we should feel sorry for? Give me a break.
Wow~ Now this is some great news! When I think on how many chances Debi was given to give up on this ever happening all of which she so bravely passed up and fought on jumping over every hurdle put in front of her. It just fills me with pride. I can't wait to talk to her myself.
But before I do let me just ask the sun's readers to imagine how upsetting this unwelcome news must be for Boyd gaming. And tell me it doesn't just put a spring in your step a song in your heart and a smile on your face. I know I'm smiling!

Response to Cliffee I'm not at all sure what you meant by... "the companies are paying the fines" but I do know what "with all due respect" means and quite frankly you should being showing quite a bit more of it to Angryfamily whom is BTW correct about almost everything he or she has said. With the exception of believing that the companies are paying rather than complying. Unfortunately they aren't paying or complying. Still I'm sure that angryfamily is worthy of a bit more respect as more often than not that kind of factual logic usually only comes from someone who has learned it the hard way.
First of all in response to...
Felicity
Just a couple words of advise please refrain from commenting until you know what you are talking about. It makes you look somewhat stupid. Okay perhaps not somewhat. And I just have to inquire as to what you meant by... "Stop pretending that you are trying to fix this problem"
Surely that comment wasn't intended for Alexandra
unless of course it was being made by oh I don't know... A lesser journalist suffering from Pulitzer envy? I'm just sayin'

I wonder how long it will take before the media focus will divert itself from OSHA under the Bush administration to OSHA now. Granted OSHA is still a severely flawed system in need of a major overhaul to say the least. Yet rather than taking notice of the dedicated efforts of our current administration and their progress we continue to focus more on OSHA's destruction paying no mind to it's current resurrection. It's been just under seven months since Hilda Solis named Jordan Barab Acting Assistant Secretary of OSHA and in that short time more has been done to restore OSHA than has been done in the past decade. And I for one can't comprehend why the media continues to focus on the past remaining oblivious to the fact that a QUICK FIX is not a possibility nor a remedy in this situation.
