Wouldn't it be nice if Warren Buffet bought the Las Vegas R-J and turned it into a real newspaper?

How ironic that the RJ, which always bashes the legal system and lawyers who sue drunk drivers, incompetent health care providers, and defective product manufacturers, is now engaged in a scheme to file multiple lawsuits itself! The RJ must have had a change of heart. Now it likes the legal system of justice! Let's see if its lawsuits pass muster, though. I predict they will be dismissed by a judge based on the First Amendment which the RJ so vociferously supports.

Those commentators who demonize the jurors who sat for many days and listened to the evidence from both sides, then were instructed on the law, and then deliberated for two more days, are totally out of line. Don't you know that all your negative comments were fully argued by the lawyers for the defendants? Being ignorant of the evidence in the case and the law that the jurors were given, you don't really have a clue what the truth is in the case. But of course, you probably don't really care what the truth is -- you are like the rock-throwers who are presently rioting in Greece. Maybe you should experience the ravages of Hepatitis-C yourself and then see if you still believe these victims should not be compensated.

Surely nobody would think that a man of high moral integrity such as Senator Ensign would knowingly violate the law. He probably believed it was OK to pay off his former aide, Mr. Hampton, with the $100,000 given to the Senator by his loyal parents, plus a cushy job which would be obtained for Mr. Hampton. (Even if "technically" this would be a violation of federal statutes.)

On the other hand, Senator Ensign did in fact admit to having an affair with his "good friend" and aide's wife, Cindy Hampton. So on second thought, maybe Senator Ensign ISN'T of such high moral integrity after all. Even if he thought it was OK to cheat on his wife, how could he rationalize the cuckholding of his supposed good friend and chief aide, Doug Hampton?
I suspect that more that several of Mr. Ensign's other "good friends" may now be wondering if their wives were also "charmed" by the Senator?

What else would you expect of the BM G.O.P.? They forgot that it was Democrats who won WWII, Democrats who saved postwar Europe, Democrats who created and flew the 1948 Berlin Airlift, and Democrats who are trying to fix a health care system and a financial-banking system that threatens to bankrupt us all. The R's are probably ashamed of their own Teddy Roosevelt, for creating our National Park System.
