Devin, they're hoping to have it done by early November, but no definite opening date is set right now. I'm guessing it won't be done until December at the earliest.

Smooga,

Shoulda added a note. Cornett suffered a hip injury early in the came Saturday, hence Dionza Bradford getting the bulk of the carries the rest of the way. It looks like he should be able to go this weekend. He's still listed at No. 1 on the depth chart.

Agreed. The key to either of these guys being able to do anything is the offensive line stabilizing and some form of a run game developing. The two games this season where Herring looked the most uncomfortable (Washington State, UNR) were the ones where the o-line struggled mightily.

tysuave, Not saying that I don't. But the jury is definitely still out. Not gonna call for his job after 18 games. That would be irresponsible. If they don't turn a corner in Year Three, though, like I said earlier, the heat will be on and there's no ifs, ands or buts about it. I do think, though, that some things have to change for this program to be successful under him. What they are, who knows? But what they're doing right now isn't working because the results are so brutally inconsistent.

If you think Hauck didn't include a program in a brutal situation, you haven't been paying attention over the years. And if you think Sanford was going to take them to a bowl game with THAT 13-game schedule last season (would have had to win seven), then, well, don't know what to say to you.

JahReb ... Haven't made a single excuse for them all year. Clearly you haven't been following. They should be more competitive than this. That's not being ignored at all.

Who knows, it might not be Herring at QB next year if he continues to trend downwards like this. They're very high on freshman Nick Sherry, who is the QB of the future. His time might come sooner than later. Lots can change before then. I said to start this season that I still felt UNLV was a year away from turning a corner. Appears I was at least right about that much.

Trust me, he hasn't been coddled. Fact is he's in the early stages of Year Two after taking over a program that, whether you want to believe it or not, was in brutal shape when he came in. I'm not making excuses for him, but I don't think his feet need to be held to the fire yet. I think if it's still like this in Year Three, though, there's no more room for error. Just my opinion.

It's pretty common, but having them both in the same month is far from common.

Hey guys, I need to truly apologize for the information above on Rosco. I misunderstood what him and his dad told me last night. He did not leave his contact lenses at home. He's having scar tissue issues in his eyes, and he's currently taking medication that keeps him from wearing lenses. He can't wear them, either, until Oct. 10. Truly apologize for that.
