Thanks Jon for this piercing analysis of our state's leadership and budget crisis. Only Barbara Buckley has had the courage to stand up and tell the truth directly to the people by holding town hall meetings. Insider Kingdom (ye bastards who anointed Gibbons) take note: We will work out tails off for her in the primary, where she will summarily trounce RR, and in the general election, where she will lay waste to the man formerly known as governor.
Nice work--well said.
Thanks!
Give the guy a freaking break! What other Captain of Industry in Nevada has the guts to relentlessly criticize the Governor? Where is Steve Wynn? Phil Satre? The Cashman's? The ship is sinking fast, folks. At least Jim Rogers is sounding the alarm.
It's time for Rogers to put down the pen and take up the sword. His words against the governor only go so far to further the cause of higher education. Enough words. Now's the time for action. Fund the recall, Mr. Rogers!
This is an all too rare example of gov't/community/business interests working in concert to help the least among us. Congratulations to Ms. Murray!
Please handle Pat Mulroy the same way you did Obama next time she's on, and we'll believe your excuse that your 'pointed questions' were not unusual.
I hope Senator Raggio kicks knocks her into oblivion!
Like most of Las Vegas, these wise city fathers are in denial that the lack of water will emerge as a constraint to growth. Even if you pumped every single drop from White Pine and Lincoln County that SINWA demands, Las Vegas would still be in a deficit according to current usage and demand forecasts. It's time to wise up.
Ride SINWA outta town on a rail! Their scheme will cost rate payers billions. It won't create significantly more water for LV. It will be the ruin of rural NV.

This is another one of those ideas that looks good on the surface (i.e., no new taxes) but ends up making the situation worse. Very few economists support a foreclosure moratorium. All it does is postpone the problem. Instead of 30 foreclosures a month for three months, we'll have 90 foreclosures on one day after the Giblet's moratorium ends.
